Keith Caputo
Announces UK Tour |
 |
Having released his new studio solo album ‘A Fondness For Hometown Scars’ through Suburban Records on the 2nd June 2008 Keith Caputo has lined up a series of UK dates to promote the album this September.
‘A Fondness For Hometown Scars’ demonstrates the fine craftsmanship of Keith’s intensely personal song-writing with this collection of bittersweet melodies and haunting songs of anguish and hurt such as the heart warming ‘In This Life (wake up and smell the bodies)’ against glittering, tender, indie pop and darker, driven, hard edged riffs such as the Velvet Revolver esque ‘Troubles Down (attic crawlspace)’. Mixing Beatle-esque melodies with both beautiful pop songs and at turns the more muscular rock leanings, “A Fondness For Hometown Scars” showcases an artist at the very height of his powers. Guest musicians on the album include Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) on trumpet, Gerry Leonard (David Bowie, Rufus Wainwright) and Craig Ross (Lenny Kravitz, Mick Jagger, Sheryl Crow). Produced by: Martyn Lenoble, one of the founding members of Porno For Pyros. He has worked with Jane's Addiction, The Cult, Dave Gahan, Scott Weiland, Daniel Lanois. Mixed by: Martyn Lenoble & Vincent jones (David Gahan, Morrissey, Monster Magnet). Mastered by: George Marino (Coldplay, John Lennon).

Eden's Nick
Workman Gives The Low Doan On Oblivion |
 |
The release of Eden's eagerly awaited album OBLIVION is now nearly upon us , the release is scheduled for July 28th via Z records, and frontman Nick Workman will be chatting with Steve Price of ARFM on July 12th to discuss the album.
In addition Nick has also took the time to explain the album track by track ........................
This album is quite different from the first. It's more melodic and it's heavier, but hasn't lost any of the grooves that we had first time around. Lyrically it has light and shade. Some tracks have a more serious "what's going on in the world today" content while others are just…well…..lyrics…..about whatever! The important thing for us was to write and record an album of catchy melodic rock tracks that mixed up the 70's, 80's and 90's and had a sprinkling of modern rock for flavour. Just put in the CD, turn the fucker up and enjoy!
OBLIVION
I guess with all that's going on around us at the moment, it's hard not feel the desire to put it into song! This has an eastern flavour to it and is very anthemic. We decided to put it as the opening track as it's such a big song. One line pretty much sums up the message of the song…"when we bleed, we bleed the same".
NOTHING
A great riff from Vince! All about how some people are ignorant about other people. The way they stare at someone because they dress different, how they look through someone because they aren't "normal". What's normal anyway?
KHARMA COMING
Vince doing his best Zack Wylde. A monster riff and groove in a track that is soooo good to play live. The song is a no brainer really… "What goes around will come around"
HIGHER
A very "up" song and went down a treat on the recent House of Lords tour.
AS GOOD AS IT GETS
One of my favourite tracks and the last one written for the album. Very catchy and loads of groove. Another track that went down a storm on the House of Lords tour.
THE LAST GOODBYE
Dedicated to Ray Gillan who is one of my greatest heroes and inspirations. R.I.P. Ray.
I DON'T DO THE BLUES
An anti-love song. No crying over lost love, more like "fuck you and on to the next"!
NEW TATTOO
This song came from a great grooving riff that was chopped out of a song from the first album because it didn't fit. It was to good to waste though, so it was used in the first song we wrote for this album.
FOR CRYING OUT LOUD
We went for an Audioslave mixed up with Lenny Kravitz vibe on this track. A pretty unrelenting song!
SAY THAT YOU WILL
This was going to be a bonus track but Steve Newman said it was one of his favourites and he would chuck his dolly out of the pram if it didn't make it to the album…. so here it is. Written at the same time as "for crying out loud" and in that Audioslave riffing vibe.
CAN'T SLOW DOWN
All about Extreme Sports fanatics, who are complete nutters!! The heaviest track on the album.
