Lifeless
Review John Lewins
|
Lifeless are a band that does what it says on the tin. A list of their influences on the bands MySpace page lists such classic thrash bands as Nuclear Assault, SOD and Suicidal Tendencies in the mix and over the course of the three tracks on this demo you get exactly what you would expect if someone had pitched the band's sound to you using those heavyweights as terms of reference. With the frantic drums and supercharged riffing of “Full Chill” you're hurled full tilt into the EP, the bass led bridge before the spazzed out solo helping to give the tune a bit of dynamic interest. There's a more SOD style hardcore feel to “Night Of The Living Shred” and “Hellride” closes out the disc with a distinctly Nuclear Assault flavoured groove. With the likes of Evile currently plying their trade using a broadly similar set of influences it would be interesting to see if Lifeless could deliver a set of songs as strong as that bands debut “Enter The Grave”. The three tracks here certainly give you an encouraging sign that they just might. Contact: www.myspace.com/lifelessboro |
