Sunstorm |
 |
Frontiers Records
have unveiled all of the details surrounding the new
Sunstorm studio project featruing former Rainbow and
Deep Purple singer Joe Lynn Turner on all Lead
Vocals !
The origins of the Sunstorm project lie in tape
trading! A few years ago, when they were just
friends and fans, Serafino Perugino (Frontiers
Records President) and Mario de Riso (Frontiers
Label Manager) used to exchange stuff and music to
listen. One day, Mario gave Serafino a cassette he
had from a journalist, with the “unreleased Joe Lynn
Turner” second album demos.
This tape featured some glorious songs, that
followed very well the musical path established by
the singer on his debut solo album “Rescue You”.
Many years passed after that days, but when
Frontiers finally signed Joe Lynn Turner to the
label, Serafino took the chance to ask Joe about
those songs.
Turner thought that it was time to take off the dust
to that material. According to the singer: “I was
writing at the time for a more commercial market,
concentrating my abilities on song writing
especially. I think the songs I wrote at the time,
can stand the test of time because they are
classics. A great song is a great song, no matter
when it’s released. Those songs should have made it
to my second album for Elektra, but then I fired the
producer and then the mess started and we decided to
part ways with the label and nothing happened for no
reason”.
Taking inspiration from the material available,
Perugino reconnected Joe Lynn with Jim Peterik, the
glorious AOR songwriter (ex Survivor and now
mastermind of Pride Of Lions) with whom he
collaborated a few years ago. “Jim and I are great
friends and I admire him a lot”, says Joe, adding
“it is a little known fact that Jim was called in to
help the song writing for Deep Purple’s follow up to
the “Slaves and Masters” album. Together with me and
Ritchie, we wrote some killer stuff which was later
rejected by the other guys, since they thought it
changed the direction of the band too much”.
Jim Peterik says: “I am honoured that one of my all
time favourite singers has chosen to record some of
my songs for this record! Joe Lynn is truly the
“singer’s singer” and he blew me away from the very
first time I saw him singing the video of “I
Surrender” from Rainbow. I think with this release
he will re-establish himself once again as one of
the premiere rock voices of our time”.
Turner, therefore went through some of the material
sent by Peterik, along with a few other tracks
submitted by Perugino and agreed to give birth to a
project that could rediscover and highlight the AOR
roots of his voice and sound.

Frontiers hired
once again the amazing Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69)
for the job of creating the perfect production and
background performances behind his voice, similarly
to what happened to the acclaimed Place Vendome
album. Also featured are Uwe Reitenauer on lead
guitars, Chris Schmidt on drums and Jochen Weyer on
keyboards.
The resulting album is a monster piece of classic
AOR the way it should be and sound in 2006, but with
the class and the fascination of the 80’s! Turner
says: “There are plenty of other songs from that era
that I believe should be heard… maybe someday” …the
doors to the Sunstorm chapter II are opened from
now, it will be up to the fans to decide whether
they will want it to happen !
Sunstorm will be released in Europe on Frontiers
Records on September 22nd 2006 with a release in
Japan scheduled on King Records and in the USA on
Locomotive Records. Also the album will be available
for digital download through I-Tunes, E-Music and
other fine digital shops within one month from the
physical release date.

Dallas Crane - Press Release |
 |
Australian rockers Dallas Crane
are all set to blaze a trail in Blighty when
they release the 'Dirty Hearts' album on August
21st.
Already big news in their native Australia (their
last Oz released record sold a blistering 25,000
copies, and the new album looks set to go Gold),
they offer up prime slabs of bluesy rock which are
as infectious as bird flu!
With a sound that owes as much to Small Faces as
AC/DC, the quartet began their journey to
become an "overnight sensation" when they met while
working in Melbourne!
Dave Larkin (vocal, guitar), Shan Vanderwert (drums,
vocal), Pete Satchell (guitar, vocal) and Chris
Brodie (bass) spent the next two years playing
gigs and taking their show on the road with several
of Australia's largest alternative acts. After
touring to the point of exhaustion the band hit the
studio. Bluesy romps like "Sit On My Knee" and
"Sweet FA" became instant live favourites while
"Sold Me" showcased their sublime song writing
skills.
"No Through Road" brought Pat Bourke (bass) into the fold and the band
embarked on another extensive tour which culminated
with their appearance at Australia's premier Oz only
music festival - Homebake.
Not long after their blistering set at The Big Day Out, the band signed a
recording and publishing deal with Australian iconic
label, Albert Productions, and headed straight to
the studio with producer Wayne Connolly to record
their self-titled album.
Scooping 3 ARIA nominations for Best Rock Album, Breakthrough Artist
Single, and Breakthrough Album the album featured
'Numb All Over' and 'Dirty Hearts' which also
claimed two spots on the JJJ Hottest 100.
All this while the band continued a relentless touring schedule including
several trips to both sides of the continent with
The Living End and Jet. Now 'Dirty Hearts'
will offer UK audiences a chance to hear what all
the fuss is about. This early taster of the Dallas
Crane experience should be grabbed with both
hands!

Terrorizer - Press Release |
 |
“Legendary,”
“pioneers,” Los Angeles’ Terrorizer belong among
those few bands that have truly shaped the face of
Grindcore and Death Metal. Now, the day has finally
come to turn rumours into an unstoppable reality!
Darker Days Ahead, the band’s highly anticipated
second album, will be released August 22nd, 2006 via
Century Media Records.
With an aggression and ferocity until then unheard
the band took the scene by storm with the 1989
release of their highly acclaimed and genre-defining
debut album, World Downfall (Earache Records). The
album installed the band as a cult institution,
despite their prompt disbanding, and the musicians
went on to concentrate on their future main bands:
Pete Sandoval (drums) with Morbid Angel and Jesse
Pintado (guitars) with Napalm Death.
With World Downfall Terrorizer created the Reign In
Blood of Grindcore inspiring a generation of bands,
their popularity never waning through these
intervening years. The massive amount of available
bootleg recordings and band merchandise, as well as
rumors of a follow-up album, kept the Terrorizer
name alive.
The eleven new tracks, as well as a new version of
the band’s classic “Dead Shall Rise” now entitled
“Dead Shall Rise V.06”, were recorded at Juan
“Punchy” Gonzalez’ DOW Studios (Morbid Angel,
Christian Death) resulting in a more mature,
sinister piece of Death/Grind, fuelled with contempt
and a harsh outlook on the status of our present and
future world. Darker Days Ahead is trademarked by
Jesse Pintado’s and Tony Norman’s (Morbid Angel,
ex-Monstrosity) unmistakably feral sounding guitar
tone and Pete Sandoval’s skin-flaying blast beats.
Joined by vocalist Anthony Rezhawk (Resistant
Culture), who renders an outstanding performance,
Terrorizer unleash a brutal tempest predicting the
darkest of days.

The
Haunted - Press Release |
 |
Swedish thrash
titans The Haunted have just completed the recording
process for the highly anticipated follow-up to
2004’s critically acclaimed rEVOLVEr album. The new
effort was recorded in Denmark at Antfarm Studios
with renowned producer Tue Madsen (Himsa, Kataklysm)
and it looks to be their most accomplished work to
date. The group spent months working on the new
material pushing themselves to create something
unique that combines certain elements of their
previous efforts, while ultimately forging ahead in
new, unexplored directions. An announcement in
regards to the title of the new album and its
release date will follow over the next few weeks.
Peter Dolving (vocals) checks in with the following
post studio report: "Oh, the power of the internet
and wireless computers. I'm currently sitting on the
john writing this report thinking about all you good
folks out there, while my kids are watching cartoons
in the living room. We just finished a new album and
I gotta say, I'm proud as fuck. It's bigger, better,
madder and thicker. Hell, that's the weird part with
the album business - how the hell to describe what
you've just done. Anyway, it rocks. Big time.
Really. Per (drums) told me at rehearsals a couple
of days ago, ‘If I died tomorrow I couldn't be more
satisfied so if people don't like it, fuck them.’ I
couldn't agree more. We started writing around
Ozzfest last year, bouncing around ideas, recording
anything that came to mind without the old ‘more or
less metal’-filter, and pretty much knew that we
were sick of the whole 900
bpm-chugga-chugga-AAARRRGGGGH-PUKE-end. We wanted to
do something we'd just touched upon with our
previous four albums. This album is simply more
diverse, dynamic and HEAVY AS FUCK. Bands like
Trouble, Autopsy, Ganx, Masters Of The Universe,
King Crimson and early Metallica have all really had
a great influence on us as a band, and I think this
album really draws a lot in color from those
artists.
“We just completed the recording process and are now
putting the artwork together with Manne Andreasson,
a bearded wierdo and dear friend or ours. Working
with Tue Madsen's been great. The dude is
down-to-earth man, and working with someone who's
got his shit together like that is a joy. Anders
spent six weeks in Denmark getting guitars down
while working with Per and Jonas and then helping me
out while I was doing vocals. Before we started
recording, he was telling us he didn't want to do
ANY solos on this record, but in the end we got him
to do four really cool pieces. I think we've managed
to find an immense sound: the drums are clearer,
heavier and less processed, and we've even got
acoustic guitars, congas, strings and loads of weird
noise manipulations going on. As far as the vocals
go, I honestly didn't know I could even sing some of
the stuff. I was nervous as fuck when I got down to
Tue's studio, and felt like a complete rookie:
‘Shit, how the hell am I going to live up to this.’
Turns out all I had to do was keep running my miles
and warm up like when we're on tour. You can look
forward to an album we're proud as fuck of, and
we're looking forward to seeing you all again as
soon as we head out for tour. It'll be ugly as ever,
I'm sure. Stay sick.”

Tigertailz - Press Release |
 |
Tigertailz (featuring Pepsi Tate, Jay
Pepper, Kim Hooker and Matt Blakout) have
received the UK Patent Office ruling on
their opposition to the registration of the
Tigertailz name as a Trademark made by
Steevi Jaimz. Jaimz, a former vocalist with
Tigertailz, was replaced by Kim Hooker back
in 1988.
The background to this case is that Steevi
Jaimz (and an associate) registered the
Tigertailz name as a Trademark with the UK
Patent Office in June 2004. On hearing of
this registration the original Tigertailz
band members Pepsi Tate and Jay Pepper
(along with later and current member Kim
Hooker) launched a formal opposition to this
registration with the Patent Office in
October 2004. Their opposition was based on
the following Trademark Law sections:
Section 3(6) - the registration made by
Steevi Jaimz was made in bad faith Section
5(4) - the law of passing off
After 2 years of formal proceedings and
evidence submission the final Patent Office
hearing was held on Tuesday 30th May 2006
with the formal decision being delivered in
writing on Tuesday 20th June 2006.
On the 2 main counts of opposition brought
against Steevi Jaimz' registration the
hearing officer up-held Pepsi Tate, Jay
Pepper and Kim Hooker's claims as follows:
1. He ruled that in all circumstances the
opposition succeeds in Section 5(4)a -
Steevi Jaimz is indeed 'passing off' as
Tigertailz
2. He also ruled that opposition succeeds in
Section 3(6) - Steevi Jaimz registered the
Tigertailz name as a Trademark in bad faith.
In summary, after 2 years of legal wrangle
we are pleased to announce that we have won
our case with regard to our right to the
Tigertailz name.

heavy and energetic production as we had on
the previous albums, but to improve it and
the performance even more. Musically, we
built on the foundation of our previous work
and developed the sound, and perhaps brought
back some of the speed. Without losing the
heaviness and the groove, of course.
HammerFall is, and always will be, a Heavy

Brigade To Release New SIngle And Announce
Live Shows |
 |
Brit rockers Brigade
release the second single from their
critically acclaimed 'Lights' album on Aug 7
2006.
Following on from their success so far in
2006, the emotive power of 'Meet Me At My
Funeral' should firmly cement the band's
place at the vanguard of the current rock
renaissance. With a creative
philosophy that defines them as a pure and
focused rock band (positioned far outside
the current preoccupation with emo stylings
and retro 'metal' excess), Brigade are
determined to forge their own path. And
their latest single is a potent slab of
intensity, both musically and lyrically.
"I wrote the lyrics to MMAMF after reading a
book called 'Bodies'", explains frontman
Will Simpson. "It depicts the experiences of
a junior hospital doctor as he starts out
and his subsequent mental breakdown. I
definitely identified with the author's
cynicism and was inspired by the main
character's helpless rage at a system that
stifles idealism in those who work within
it. The song is about searching for
redemption and our abilities as humans to
cope and survive when there is no clear
definition between what is right and wrong."
Produced by Joe Gibb (Robbie Williams,
Madonna, The Cure, Funeral For A Friend) and
Gethin Woolcock, the single will be released
on Mighty Atom Records (Funeral For A
Friend, 3 Colours Red, Hondo Maclean).
Having toured with the likes of Fightstar,
Hidden In Plain View, Hundred Reasons and
Biffy Clyro, the band are fast becoming live
favourites… and they have yet more dates
planned to promote the 'Meet Me At My
Funeral' single!

Fair Warning |
 |
More than five years
after their last album "Four", the German
Melodic Hard Rock sensations FAIR WARNING
are back with their reunion album “Brother’s
Keeper” to be released on Frontiers Records
in Europe on August 25th 2006.

The band’s reunion happened after a five
years break and is now formed by singer
Tommy Heart, guitarist Helge Engelke,
bassist Ule W. Ritgen and CC Behrens on
drums.
Similarly to what happened with some of
their previous albums ("Rainmaker", "Go" and
"Four"), the band withdrew in an old
mansion, where they recorded a big part of
the new album from august 2005 until march
2006.
The first reactions to the new material are
stunning. The first single "Don't Keep Me
Waiting", scored a sensational 92/100 points
in the Japanese leading rock magazine "Burrn!".
That does not happen that often for single
releases !
“Brother’s Keeper” will be released on the
25th of August, anticipated by the
re-release of their debut album "Fair
Warning" and the band’s breakthrough album
in Japan "Rainmaker", together with the
first world wide release of the DVD "The
Call Of The East" - a live concert in Japan.
“Brother’s Keeper” final tracklisting shall
include the following songs (click on the
song title to listen an mp3 sample):
Don’t Keep Me Waiting; Generation Jedi; All
My Love; Rainbow Eyes; Push Me On; Wasted
Time; The Cry; The Way; Once Bitten Twice
Shy; Tell Me Lies; In The Dark; Still I
Believe (Bonus Track for Europe); All I
Wanna Do.
Fair Warning have already announced their
participation to some festivals throughout
Europe, including the second edition of the
United Forces of Rock festival in
Ludwigsburg, Germany on October 1st 2006. A
full European tour is planned for late 2006
/ early 2007.

album from multi-platinum rock band
AUDIOSLAVE.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone.com,
guitarist Tom Morello described the record
as “Led Zeppelin meets Earth, Wind and
Fire,” adding that it’s a “big hard rock
record with a funky bottom.” Among the
album’s many highlights is the groove-driven
lead single, “Original Fire,” and "Wide
Awake," about the aftermath of Hurricane
Katrina. "It's probably Audioslave's most
political song to date,” says Morello.
The Grammy-nominated quartet (vocalist Chris
Cornell, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer
Brad Wilk) recorded REVELATIONS at Henson
Studios in Los Angeles with acclaimed
producer Brendan O’Brien. O’Brien, whose
myriad credits include Pearl Jam and Bruce
Spingsteen, mixed Audioslave’s Out of Exile
record and the Live in Cuba CD and DVD. His
history with the band goes back even
farther, as he produced Rage Against The
Machine albums Evil Empire (1996), The
Battle of Los Angeles (1999) and Renegades
(2000) and mixed Soundgarden’s Superunknown
(1994).
REVELATIONS follows 2005’s Out of Exile,
which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top
200 and featured the Grammy nominated single
“Doesn’t Remind Me.”
The full track listing for REVELATIONS is as
follows:
“Revelations”
”One And The Same”
”Sound of a Gun”
”Until We Fall”
”Original Fire”
”Broken City”

Iron Maiden |
 |
Iron Maiden plan to
release their new studio album entitled A
MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH, in early
September.
The band started writing songs at the end of
2005 after a short break from their hugely
successful festival appearances in Europe
and the USA. After Christmas the songs were
completed and rehearsed when the band then
got together with producer Kevin 'Caveman'
Shirley at Sarm West Studios in London to
start work on recording the backing tracks.
Kevin Shirley has now co-produced three of
the bands studio albums alongside Steve
Harris, as well as two of their recent Live
DVD's and albums. From this the working
relationship between Kevin and the band
seems to get stronger and stronger. Says
Kevin, 'The Beast is back! I feel from the
outset we all clicked on this one. We spent
two months in the studio, from Go to Whoa -
from Nicko's 'tubs up' to final mixes and
sequenced master! That's a tiny gestation
period for an album. Producing Iron Maiden
is like sitting in the head and driving one
of those mammoth automatons from Star Wars
or Saturday morning cartoons! And there's
nothing that can stop it!'
'I feel incredibly privileged to have been
around to see this album born and breathe
life. There have been only a couple of
occasions in my career when the ENTIRE
process of recording felt so complete - and
it is on display here.'
As on previous projects all of the tracks
were performed live and together in one
room. No click tracks or computer tightening
or manipulation has happened at any stage of
the recording.
Says Steve Harris,' I think in many ways
this has been the easiest album in terms of
recording that we've ever done. The whole
process of writing through to recording was
very natural. I think in terms of the
material we've also pushed our boundaries
yet again and I think it will please our
fans but also really surprise a lot of
people as well. The sound we've managed to
get is very powerful for a Maiden record and
all of us have pushed ourselves in our own
ways to create something that we're all
immensely proud of and I think working as
quickly as we did with Kevin really was part
of that process. We simply can't wait to
take this out on the road. We've played some
great shows and had a lot fun recently
introducing some of our older songs to a new
generation of fans. However for us
personally we're incredibly excited about
getting out and performing these new
tracks.'
Says Bruce Dickinson,'This album has to be
our best since working with Kevin. There is
such a wide scope of musicianship on this
album and in parts this album is truly epic.
I thought with the likes of Paschendale from
the last studio album that we could only
hope to surpass that but having now heard
the album back as well as sitting with a few
select people and hearing their reactions as
well I truly believe we have managed it.
Every one of us has put everything into this
record and it's really paid off. However
we've had such fun making it that it's
almost difficult to believe what we've
managed to achieve in the time it took.'
The full track listing is as below.
A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH
1. Different Worlds (Smith/Harris) 4.17
2. These Colours Don't Run
(Smith/Harris/Dickinson) 6.52

Twilight Illusion Sign To Majestic Rock |
 |
Majestic Rock records
have announced the signing of Swedish
Neo-Classical metal act Twilight Illusion to
a world-wide recording deal for their debut
album, currently due for release early in
2007.
‘The band bring something new and exciting
to the genre’ says Majestic Rock A&R
director Geoff Gillespie. ‘There are many
bands working in this area, so to stand out
a band needs to have something more about
them. Thankfully, Twilight Illusion have
that something special and I have no doubt
at all that this record will turn heads”.
The Stockholm based band comprises American
vocalist Sebastian Nicolescu, guitarist
Johan Ahlskog, bassist Hĺkan Andersson and
drummer Rickard Johansson and vocalist
Sebastian had this to say about signing with
Majestic Rock:
“We’ve been listening to the neo-classical
metal out there and frankly we’re not
impressed. On the other hand it feeds us the
hunger. The hunger to show that original
neo-classical music can still be written.
Music that is exciting and fresh with no
need to imitate certain “icons” of the
genre. We also think that an album should be
made of great songs entirely, not only one
or two. We’d like to thank Majestic Rock
Records and Geoff Gillespie in particular
for this chance. This is going to be fun!”

based Goth metal band Liquid Sky.

July 20
Queensferry @ The Pentre Club
July 22

July 28
Hull @ The White Room
July 29
Mansfield @ Town Mill
More dates
will be announced as they are confirmed.
Band leader, Christopher Morris, is thrilled
that the band will finally tour overseas.
“It feels great to finally get the
opportunity to tour England and to do it
along side a great band like Liquid Sky. We
have had tremendous support from our British
fans since our debut album almost 6 years
ago. To play for them now, as well as gain
exposure to new fans, is a dream come true
for us. Being British myself, there is also
a great sense of pride in this homecoming."
Nicodemus
Nicodemus
began in late 1998 as a project of American
musician Christopher Morris. After
graduating with two music degrees, he left
failed bands behind and launched his own
label, Dark Throne Music, to release his new
work. In 2000 the debut Nicodemus CD "Tales
of the Lovelorn & Necromantic" was released.
Inspired by traditional, progressive, and
European black metal, the album achieved
critical acclaim for its original blend of
musicianship and dark atmosphere. Compared
to such metal heavyweights as Dimmu Borgir
and King Diamond, the Nicodemus sound caught
on with the metal underground and sales grew
strong. Due to such demand, the album
received distribution in thirteen countries
giving the release international press
attention and retail availability. By this
time, Nicodemus had grown to include Andrew
Greene on drums and Mathew McGee on lead
guitar in the live and recording line-up.
Buzz about the band continued to grow
eventually catching the attention of Jeff
Keller Management LLC (Black 'N Blue, Law
And Order). In 2002, with a management team
in place, Nicodemus signed with US based
gothic metal label Dark Symphonies and
recruited a second guitarist, Dave Peters.
February 11th, 2003 saw the much anticipated
release of the "The Supernatural Omnibus".
Critical
acclaim continued with the more melodic and
progressive approach of the sophomore effort
Radio play increased, mainly in Europe, and
exposure through metal magazines and on the
Internet grew exponentially. Drawing diverse
comparisons to bands like Dream Theatre and
RUSH, to Theatre of Tragedy and Tristania,
Nicodemus was making an impact. Looking for
a stronger presence outside of the US, the
band immediately began writing new material
with a focus on attracting even more
attention from the stronger European market.
With more focused song writing and even
stronger progressive arrangements, the band
left Dark Symphonies and sought a European
label for its new home. Winter of 2004 saw
the signing of a worldwide deal with Greek
metal label SONIC AGE RECORDS. An exciting
new chapter for Nicodemus is now under way
as the band's new opus is in its final
stages of preparation.
Liquid Sky
Already
regulars at venues like Manchester's
Roadhouse, the Cavern in Liverpool, and the
Hope and Anchor in Islington, they've
supported bands such as Skindred and Uniting
The Elements. The highlight of 2004 was
performing at the Bloodstock festival in
Derby in September, alongside such
luminaries as Children of Bodom, Gamma Ray
and Sonata Arctica.
And more
than anything else, it’s these incendiary
gigs that have won them a loyal and
constantly expanding army of fans. They
consistently turn in live performances that
radiate the kind of energy that electrifies
your synapses and blisters your eardrums.
Drawing on
the best rock tradition of twin guitar
attack, the line up sees Jonathan Craven and
Audie Lewis rolling out a decadent double
crunch of guitars. Meanwhile, Den Constable
relentlessly pins the bass down and Jamie
Ward keeps it watertight on drums with the
added bonus of some serious double-kick drum
abuse. The prodigious young talent that is
keyboard player Joe Rhodes, adding a new
twist to the Liquid Sky alchemy, bolsters
the band’s constantly evolving sound.
2004 saw
the arrival of new vocalist Hecate Taglietti.
With her searing passionate voice and a
powerful stage-presence, this raven-haired
siren has effortlessly bewitched a legion of
fans. And with Jon occasionally backing her
with a guttural roar, it’s a heady vocal
brew.
Riding
high on the success of their previous EPs
“Adrenochrome” and "Nightfall", Liquid Sky
have just released a clutch of blistering
album “Bloodline”. As Jonathan says,
"Bloodline demonstrates exactly where Liquid
Sky is right now – a combination of melody
and power; the perfect balance of light and
darkness".
Drawing
together all of their varied influences and
adding a new twist to produce cutting-edge
metal, Liquid Sky are the embodiment of the
new breed of rock musicians – intense,
powerful and ready to make music you’ll
always remember.

The
Lizards Release New CD - Mystery Guest Revealed |
 |
One of the most tightly
guarded secrets of 2006 in the world of rock 'n'
roll has been the name of the 'mystery guest
star' on the new Lizards CD. Speculation has run
rampant while the lid on The Lizards 'secret
recording sessions' has remained securely shut
until NOW!!! Featuring drum legend Bobby
Rondinelli (BOC/Rainbow/Sabbath) and vocal
extraordinaire Mike DiMeo (Riot), The Lizards
recently completed several successful tours of
the USA and Europe, with the likes of the
Vanilla Fudge, UFO, Ian Hunter, Mountain and
Canned Heat, in support of their third album,
last year's critically acclaimed Cold Blooded
Kings.
The Lizards new CD Against All Odds, which
promises to be the bands best yet, began life in
the group's private studio, aptly christened
Electric Randyland, in mid-2005. Along with
Rondinelli and DiMeo, The Lizard's bassist Randy
Pratt and guitarist Patrick Klein painstakingly
wrote and recorded 10 new songs, many of which
are destined to become rock classics, as well as
regulars in the band's live repertoire.
Likewise, the arrangements incorporated into the
music are intricate, compelling and downright
rocking! - Even real horns and strings were used
in the mix! "I think we're evolving," says Bobby
Rondinelli, "going deeper into our roots, but
also taking it to new places… I think the CD
will surprise people." And surprise it will, as
one of the most intriguing aspects of the new
Lizards CD is the addition of an undisclosed
guest rock superstar!
Which brings us to the question that has been
plaguing everyone's minds for the past year -
Who is this mystery rocker?! Well the wait is
finally over! And a drum-roll please…
The mystery guest star is none-other-than than
Glenn Hughes!!! - The legendary bassist/vocalist
from Deep Purple/Trapese/Black Sabbath, and a
rock icon in his own right. Hughes, whom The
Lizards toured extensively throughout Europe,
Scandinavia and Russia in 2004, lends his
dynamic vocals on four tracks on Against All
Odds, as well as playing bass and singing on a
cut for future release. The classic rocker, who
recently sang lead vocals on Black Sabbath's
Tony Iommi's new CD and is currently recording a
new solo album, at the time of the Lizards
recordings was quoted saying, "They were the
best sessions I've ever done outside my own
music!"
In recent news, The Lizards have performed a
series of exciting US dates with guitar legend
Uli John Roth and British classic rock heroes 10
Years After . Likewise the band is putting the
finishing touches on their third live DVD, shot
last year in Europe, as well as finishing a CD
of hard rock covers - (both projects slated for
a summer 2006 release). On a similar note,
bassist Randy Pratt will appear in an upcoming
issue of Bass Guitar Magazine, which will
feature a full-photo spread of his unique bass
collection. Pratt can also be heard blowing his
harp on the soon-to-be-released Cactus CD
featuring Carmine Appice and Tim Bogert. Also,
Mike DiMeo has lent his powerful vocals to
Riot's forthcoming album called Still Alive.

Ten |
 |
Frontiers Records is
proud to welcome back in its roster the legendary
British Hard Rock band TEN for the release of their
brand new album “The Twilight Chronicles” on August 25th
2006.

Left to Right: Paul Hodson, Chris Francis, Gary Hughes,
John Helliwell
Singer and songwriter
Gary Hughes describes the new recording as “Epic beyond
the limits of all previous Ten albums, with vast and
intricate orchestra sections that can only be described
as Cinematic".
Gary worked endless hours in his studio in Manchester
with the precise task to create “the highest
productional scale TEN album ever”. Hughes used as
reference TEN’s two most successful releases ever (“The
Name of The Rose” and “Spellbound”) and mixed them with
a "Troy" meets the "London Symphony Orchestra" approach.
The result is a record that features mighty orchestral
passages and boasts all the usual opus of hooks, riffs,
haunting melodies and themes that are always expected
and associated with any TEN release: a mixture of rock
and ballads with a strong atmospheric mood and lyrics
that tell tales of love, lust, death, glory, revenge and
darkness.

The final track
listing for 'The Twilight Chronicles' is as follows:
The Prologue/Rome;
The Chronicles; Elysian Fields; Hallowed Ground; This
Heart Goes On; Oblivion; The Twilight Masquerade:
Tourniquet; Born To The Grave; When This Night Is Done
and Epilogue.
In addition to this massive new release, Frontiers
Records and TEN agreed to officially re-release in
mid-price series “Return To Evermore”, the band’s
brilliant previous studio album, with the inclusion of
the original Japanese only bonus track “It’s You I
Adore”. Both albums will be made simultaneously
available in Europe on August 25th 2006.

Welsh Music Star Makes A Stand |
 |
Matt Davies, lead singer of Bridgend band Funeral For A
Friend, is one of the many famous faces helping to draw
attention to top children's charity beatbullying and
their Take A Stand campaign. Matt was photographed
wearing his Take A Stand dogtag and wristband in
solidarity with the millions who suffer from bullying.
Matt Davies said: "Raising awareness and stamping out
bullying and its effects on people young and old, even
on a global level, is very important. People should not
have to live in fear of this kind of behaviour." Other
stars giving the campaign their support include Charlie
Simpson from Fightstar, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Dame Kelly
Holmes and Girls Aloud.
The Take A Stand campaign was launched by Patrick
Stewart from the cast of X-Men: The Last Stand. With the
movie's release some Welsh cinemas are helping the
campaign by selling the dogtags and glow-in-the-dark
wristbands. These are: Cardiff Vue * Swansea Odeon *

Patrick Stewart said: "It isn't often anti-bullying
movements are launched alongside Hollywood action movies
but I believe it is the right thing to do. This link
could have been made between any of the X-Men films.
Bullies want to wipe out that which is different; they
want to destroy it, whether it's race or religion, size
or intellectual interest. Anything that sets you apart
is what the bully wants to stamp out."
Patrick says he understands bullying is a hard thing to
confront but it is the only way to stop it once and for
all: "If a stand isn't taken the bullies have it their
own way."
John Quinn, Director of beatbullying said: "We know that
everyone is against bullying yet it still goes on. In
other words we all think beating bullying is someone
else's responsibility. Take A Stand is empowering those
to make a difference in their communities. The
Take A Stand campaign reminds each and every one of us,
young and old, that we have not only the responsibility
but the power to beat bullying.
