Frontiers
Records Update |
 |
|
Jim Peterik has completed work for his forthcoming
solo album entitled “Above The Storm”. The record is slated
for a March 26th release on Frontiers Records and will
include the following tracks: Live Life; Burning With A
Reason; Above The Storm; In The Days We Have; Stand And Be
Counted; At This Time Of Night; A Kiss To Remember You By;
The God In You; Secrets Of A Woman; A Talent For Loving You;
Hiding From Yourself; Midnight In My Soul and We Believe.

“Above The Storm” is Jim Peterik’s second solo album and
features a few of his favourite writers, like Johnny Van Zant of Lynyrd Skynyrd and Donnie Van Zant of .38 Special to
add their unique touches to the project. The distinctive
combined voices of the Ides Of March also appear on the
title song of “Above The Storm”. Their combination with
Jim’s lead vocal have the effect of meeting an old friend in
a new and unexpected place. The same can be said of the
amazing synergy between Jim and singer Lisa McClowry who
takes time away from her solo career and slot in Jim's world
stage shows to add her soulful background vocals.
Another thread that “vibes” its way through the album is the
sound of the Hammond B-3 organ, played by Jim’s Ides
bandmate Scott May. More pieces of that puzzle that fit in
“just right” on “Above The Storm” are the Pride Of Lions
rhythm section and the mighty Ides of March brass section.
The album is a comprehensive collection of all the elements
that have made Jim a major success as a songwriter and
performer for the past 5 decades. The songs on “Above The
Storm” draw on each of his the influences combine to make a
new style that defies any pat classification. This album
rocks, it rolls, it inspires and it comforts. You’ll rip
some of these songs for your “workout” play list, and others
to put on when you’re in a romantic mood. “Above The Storm”
might just be the ultimate melodic rock album!
Valentine
Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the signing of
Valentine for a multi-album deal. Valentine is the project
masterminded by Dutch multi-instrumentalist and singer Robby
Valentine who, after releasing several hugely successful
records for Japan only, finally finds his way back to the
European markets with the release of his brand new album
“The Most Beautiful Pain”.

“I am extremely happy to finally see my new album coming out
in Europe. Nothing happened without reasons for too long. I
feel like I come alive again”, Robby says.
Robby Valentine is best known for his involvement with such
bands as 1st Avenue and Zinatra, before starting a career on
his own that brought the release of six studio albums
including the very successful “The Magic Infinity” which
brought him to tour in support of Queen guitarist Brian May
during 1993.
He has also recently worked with the other very talented
Dutch artist Valensia to give birth to V . Valensia /
Valentine (two albums released in Japan only).
'The Most Beautiful Pain' – Valentine’s new record - is an
emotional and very diverse melodic rock album. In Robby’s
own words it features: “Pompous grandeur, heartbreaking
piano ballads, catchy Pop-Rock tracks, raw modern guitar
oriented songs and much more”. Robby’s musicality has been
heavily influenced by Queen, classical music and melodic
rock, so you can expect from his albums a huge dose of big
hooklines, wonderful musicality and sheer genius from the
very gifted Dutch multi-instrumentalist and singer.
“The Most Beautiful Pain” will be released in Europe on
Frontiers Records on March 24th 2006 and will feature the
following track listing: I Should Have Known Better; A New
World; I’m Going Under (Sedated); One Of These Days; The
Cold And Lonely Lie; She (Abandoned Heart); Magnum Opus;
Everyday Hero; Supernova; Magical Memories; How Many Times;
Mickey; How Can I Live Without You; One Heart; Back To The
Future Theme; Now Or Never and Exodus Elephantes….
Robby played and sang almost everything on the record with
Johan Willems joining on harmony vocals on a couple of
tracks and Juan van Emmerloot (Snowy White, Steve Lukather)
and Nop Ton (ex 1st Avenue) did several drum tracks.

Shadows Fall
Sign With Roadrunner |
 |
|
Roadrunner Records is very proud to announce the signing of
Massachusetts-based five-piece, Shadows Fall for all
territories, excluding the US.
Mark Palmer, M.D. of Roadrunner Records U.K. stated:
“Shadows Fall have been one of the standard-bearers for
quality American Metal for the past 4 years and it's an
honour to have them as part of the Roadrunner family.”
Likewise, Shadows Fall frontman Brian Fair was equally
enthused by their new home. Speaking from home, where the
band are working on songs for their fifth studio album, he
commented "All of us in Shadows Fall are very excited to
begin a working relationship with Roadrunner Records! The
label has always represented the multiple sounds and styles
of the metal genre and they have never been afraid to take a
chance and support bands they believed in. From the roots of
extreme metal with Obituary, Deicide and Exhorder to the
breakout success of bands like Slipknot and Killswitch
Engage, Roadrunner has always been at the fore-front of the
evolution of metal. We feel it will be a perfect fit to help
spread the word about Shadows Fall around the globe. The
time has come for total world domination."
After forming in 1996, Shadows Fall have developed in to one
of the metal scene's key players, both live and on CD. With
four increasingly proficient albums under their belt,
culminating in the 2004 release of 'The War Within', the
band have picked up numerous accolades from global rock
publications and media. Underlining that, the band were
honoured in this year's 48th Annual Grammy Awards in the US,
with a nomination alongside metal heavyweights like
Slipknot, Ministry and Rammstein, for their album track,
'What Drives The Weak'.
Shadows Fall spent much of 2004 on the road, racking up
major dates across the US on Ozzfest, in the UK at the
Download Festival and in Germany at Rock Am Ring and Rock Im
Park as well as a string of arena shows with Slipknot and
Lamb of God. They are now back home working on the follow up
to 'The War Within' which is expected to see the light of
day in early 2007 through new label, Roadrunner Records.
Roadrunner Records is excited to add a major band such as
Shadows Fall to their stable of ground-breaking metal
artists and are ready to take them to the next level.

Shop Studios with co-producer Scott Humphrey and will
include 11 tracks — including an acoustic number called
"Death of It All", "Seventeen Year Locusts" and the album's
first single, "Foxy, Foxy".
Celtic Frost have signed a deal with Century Media
Records for the release of their new album, entitled
Monotheist' due to hit shops in the Spring of 2006.
Monotheist will be Celtic Frost's first album in 13 years
and will features eleven songs produced by the band with
Peter Tägtgren
The
track lisiting for Monotheist is as follows: Progeny,
Ground, A Dying God Coming Into Human Flesh, Drown In Ashes,
Os Abysmi Vel Daath, Obscured, Domain Of Decay, Ain Elohim
Triptych, Totengott, Synagoga Satanae and Winter (Requiem,
Chapter Three: Finale).
The
album will be released simultaneously in all territories in
three different configurations including a limited-edition

and a vinyl LP with another bonus title, "Incantation

Century Media Records. "Their new album is a historic
comeback."
Beyond Fear, former Judas Priest and current Iced
Earth vocalist, Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens’ new band, are scheduled
to release their self-titled debut album on Steamhammer/SPV
on May 8,2006. “I always knew that I would bring out an
album featuring my own compositions one day,” Owens
explains. “But I didn’t feel like a solo recording, I’d much
rather perform my songs with a permanent band. That’s how
Beyond Fear came about.”
The debut was recorded at the legendary Morrisound Studios
in Tampa, Florida, under the direction of producer Jim
Morris - a definite quality feature when it comes to the
album’s sound and dynamics. Beyond Fear consist of Tim
‘Ripper’ Owens (vocals), John Comprix (rhythm & lead
guitar), Dwane Bihary (rhythm guitar), Dennis Hayes (bass)
and Eric Elkins (drums). The album consists of fourteen
haunting metal numbers, which, according to Owens, “show
unmistakably where my musical roots lie: in the classic
heavy metal of the Eighties. However, I’ve transported that
traditional metal style into the present, lending it its own
touch.”
Tim "Ripper" Owens composed seven of the fourteen tracks on
"Beyond Fear" on his own, the remaining seven were penned by
Tim "Ripper" Owens together with guitarist John Comprix .
“This is the best album I’ve ever recorded,” enthuses Owens,
promising an extensive European tour starting summer 2006.
And there seems to be no doubt in his mind about a
continuation of his extremely successful collaboration with
Iced Earth mastermind, Jon Schaffer: “I will definitely sing
on the next Iced Earth album!”

Frontiers
Records Update |
 |
|
House of Lords singer James Christian has recently
released this statement concerning the recording of the
forthcoming studio album:
“Hello
everyone, I wanted to make this announcement before any
rumour trickle in regarding the new HOUSE OF LORDS line-up.
As many of you know the original line-up just completed a
few shows at Firefest in Europe. It was great to be together
again with my band-mates and perform songs from our
catalogues of CDs. In my opinion, this reunion needed to
happen and I am so glad that it did. I only wish that we
could have had the whole band there.
That being said, a new CD of HOL with the original line-up
would not be exactly what the fans expect. Not that the
music would not be stellar because Ken, Chuck and Lanny are
the best musicians I have ever played with.
The fans have expressed the fact that they really miss the
traditional HOL sound and that they missed that on our last
release. Musical tastes change and that is what happened
with the original HOL line-up.
I wanted to do a House of Lords CD that remained true to the
sound that our fans remember. Also the Melodic Rock sound
still remains true in my heart and I want to continue to
write and sing songs in that vein. I would not be able to
accomplish that without a change.
After speaking with Gregg and discussing his involvement in
the CD, we commenced the writing of the new studio album,
with a renewed line up consisting of myself and Gregg
Giuffria together with Jimi Bell on guitar (ex WAYNE, MIKE
VESCERA, THUNDERHEAD), B.J Zampa on drums (ex MALMSTEEN,
DRIVER, WAYNE, THUNDERHEAD) and the experienced musician and
songwriter Jeff Kent on bass. They are all experienced
musicians and have brought a lot to the new songs both in
terms of writing and of arrangements.
I am sure the new record will please all our fans and will
mark the beginning of a new and successful era for the
band”.
Talisman
Jeff Scott Soto and Marcel Jacob are busy writing and
recording a brand new Talisman album, tentatively called
“Bar”. Recording is taking place at Ulf Wahlberg’s XTC
studios in Stockholm, Sweden and the recording line-up will
also feature long-time members Fredrik Akesson on guitars
and Jaime Borger on drums.
According to bass player Marcel Jacob: “The material is
extremely melodic and groovy. Very little metal... and we
are working on some ballad material”. The album is
tentatively planned for a late summer release and the band
is considering some possibilities for live appearances in
the fall.

Shy have cancelled their upcoming
gig at Crewe Limelight on Thursday 26th
Jan. Dante Fox, who were due to
be supporting Shy at the show, will now
be playing their own gig at the
Limelight on the same date.
Bon Jovi have added a second date at
Wembley Stadium to their UK tour
itinerary for June 2006. The new show
takes place on Saturday June 10th and
again Nickelback will be the special
guests for the show.
In a story related to the Bon Jovi
tour UK Power Pop band Teenage
Casket Company are hoping with a
new campaign they've put in place to
earn them an opening slot on the up
coming Bon JoviI Stadium Tour this
summer! Believing that 'The People'
can make a difference they're
hopping that a Petition will grab
the attention of the Bon Jovi Camp
and maybe even Jon Bon Jovi
himself.
Teenage Casket Company have gone
from strength to strength over the
past two years supporting the likes
of vain, LA Guns, Trashlight Vision
and Mitch malloy along with touring
both the UK and US East Coast with
their infectious brand of guitar
fuelled pop rock in support of their
debut album 'Dial It Up'. Now they
aim to take things on to a grand
scale!
Bassist Rob Lane recently commented
on the new campaign which is gaining
great momentum and people's
imagination.
"This
isn't just some kind of publicity
stunt or us just trying to get a gig
in front of 1000's of people - sure
it'd be nice! But it's about us
wanting to play with a band who we
think our sound would work great
with, a band who we are fans of and
one that I also 'think' the Bon Jovi
fans would enjoy watching before the
'Main Event'! Because we don't have
thousands of ££££'s to buy on to a
gig like this (even if we did
someone would have more) we've set
up a Petition and Website to spread
the word and maybe get Jon or his
Management's attention and let them
say 'What the hell, give 'em 20
minutes, see what they can do!!'

Campaign and to sign the Petition

Teer Announce
New Vocalist |
 |
Powerhouse vocalist David McBee will be
joining the Tampa, Florida hard rock
band Teer. McBee recently completed a
successful audition for Teer and
producer Jim Morris (Dixie Dregs, Saigon
Kick, Savatage, Third Eye Blind).
Shortly thereafter, Teer band members
made a formal offer to McBee and invited
him to become their new vocalist. "I am
amazed and proud to be working with such
high level professionals in this
business," remarks McBee. "I believe
this is a perfect fit for me and plan to
do whatever it takes to help catapult
this band to success." McBee is a
professional singer with more than 20
years of studio and live experience with
various blues, progressive rock and
heavy metal bands including Big Dixon
and ShockOpera. His influences include
Ronnie James Dio, Geoff Tate, Russell
Allen, Ian Gillan, David Bowie and Glenn
Hughes.
"After searching a year for a
personable, responsible and dynamic
vocalist and frontman, we finally found
our guy - someone who can step it up a
notch and push us to a higher level in
this industry," states Nathan Boone,
Teer's guitarist and songwriter about
his latest choice for vocalist. Boone is
a founding band member and has been with
Teer since its inception in 1992.
Born and raised in Gaffney, SC, David
McBee began singing when he was 15 with
local bands and knew instantly he wanted
to do it for the rest of his life. He
went on the road for the first time with
Sovereign Steel at the age of 16 and
stayed on the road for nine months.
Since that time, his bands included
Gypsy Heart, Master Cylinder, After
Class, and Rellik. After a brief stint
with Gypsy Heart, he spent a year with
Master Cylinder. One of the Master
Cylinder songs resulted in McBee moving
to Hollywood in 1990 for auditions for
bands being formed by current Scorpions
drummer James Kotac and former Keel
guitarist Marc Ferrari. "Marc and James
are super guys. It just didn't work out.
So I just stayed in Hollywood and moved
from jam session to jam session with
Paul Shortino from Rough Cutt, Jamie St.
James from Black 'N Blue, and Roy Cathey
from Sweat 'N Bullets," McBee said. "It
was a lot of fun, but the Hollywood
scene was rough on a Southern boy."
McBee returned to South Carolina where
he spent three years touring with a Top
40 band called Catch 22. After the band
left the road, McBee returned to Gaffney
where he joined a Southern blues/rock
band called Big Dixon and recorded an
independently released self-titled
album. McBee is the former lead singer
for ShockOpera, a progressive rock band
based in the Carolinas, and also worked
briefly with guitarist Steve Ornest and
producer Wyn Davis (Dokken, Great
White).
Originally formed in 1992 by the
collaboration of John Teer, Shane French
and Nathan Boone, central Florida
melodic hard rock band Teer made a
long-awaited return to recording and
performing in 2004. Teer's signature
sound of crushing guitars and driving
drums mixed with soaring vocals and
outstanding songwriting has developed
into one of the most distinct
fingerprints left on the melodic rock
scene. Teer's music is embraced by fans
of almost every genre of rock, and by
people of nearly every age group. Teer
was signed by Now & Then / Frontiers
records and released their self-titled
CD in 2000 with concert appearances in
the UK and throughout Florida. Teer was
also asked to be former Danger Danger
vocalist Ted Poley's backing band for
his appearance in the UK.In January
2004, Teer recruited bassist, Rob
DeVore. After recording some new demos
and playing a torrent of local concerts,
Teer embarked on a tour of the United
Kingdom with Tyketto, Jeff Scott Soto
and Deadline in November, 2004.
In 2006, Teer will release a new CD
recorded at Morrisound Studios with
producer Jim Morris, and will tour
Europe and the USA extensively.

say it all:-
"30 albums and some of the most famous
rock songs ever recorded, you'd think
Alice Cooper's demons would've been
conquered by now-or maybe locked in a
cage and fed undercooked meat. But the
man who changed the course of rock music
in the '70s with bloody guillotines,
sparking electric chairs, slimy boa
constrictors, and a little blood and
eyeliner still has more to slay in 2005.
Alice Cooper is master at re-inventing
himself, shedding his skin like one of
his snakes to become everything from a
mascara'd grave robber to a
leather-wrapped street hooligan, a film
noir detective, insane asylum honor
student, and nihilistic dada-ist."
Additional acts will be added to the
line-up of Monsters Of Rock and
announced in the next few weeks as they
are confirmed.

Frontiers
Update |
 |
Frontiers Records is pleased to announce
the release of the new exciting Andre
Anderson/Paul Laine/David Readman
“III” project on March 24th 2006.

Andre Andersen
Paul Laine
David Readman
The
project had its inception from the great
esteem that both Andre Andersen –
keyboard maestro and mainman of Royal
Hunt – and Paul Laine – formerly singer
of Danger Danger – had one for each
other.
Andre therefore started to write
“straight rock tunes”. In a way,
according to the ivory-tinkler “it was a
challenge to push these songs in a 3,5 -
4 minutes frames, ditching those longer
instrumental passages, elaborate intros
and such. But it was fun nevertheless”
adding then, “The whole sound landscape
is pretty much "in your face", every
player did a great job so the main point
of this album - no thrills, pure rock -
came across as planned”.
After the first recording sessions Andre
felt the desire to expand the project to
another powerful and strong vocalist he
had the chance to admire for some time,
that is to say Pink Cream 69 shouter
David Readman. He liked a lot the demos
that Andre prepared for the project and
in a few weeks the record was completed.

“Both
singers are great” says Andre, “and even
if I crafted the songs particularly for
their vocal styles, they made my job a
lot easier”.
The full track listing includes ten
tracks of straight ahead melodic hard
rock that will encompass a large number
of fans – from the Royal Hunt and Pink
Cream 69 to the Danger Danger
harder-edged fanbase.
Rise *, Dust To Dust +, The Way It Goes
*, Straight To The Heart +, Tell Me Your
Lies *, Don’t Need A Thing +, End of My
Rope *, Scared To Live +, Bulletproof *
and Learning To Fly +
*Lead vocals – Paul Laine
+Lead vocals – David Readman
“III” will be released in Europe on
march 24th 2006 on Frontiers Records
exclusively while the Japan release will
happen on King Records.

Erol Sora |
 |
SORA, a new band
featuring guitarist/vocalist Erol Sora,
will officially release their debut
album “Demented Honour” on MTM Music Feb
24th. In addition to Erol,
(who some people may recognize from
playing guitar with ex-Uriah Heep singer
John Lawton), SORA also consists of
drummer Lance Chalmers, bassist Kevin
Dahl, and keyboard player Gregory
Macdonald.
Says Erol, “We set out to
record an album based around the songs
first and foremost, yet also appeal to
fans of guitar oriented hard rock. I
enjoy singing and writing as much as
playing guitar so this truly has been a
labour of love. I would describe
Demented Honour as a classic album of in
your face hard rock, with occasional
blues, pop, and AOR elements. I think
fans of Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy,
Whitesnake, and KISS will really dig
it.”

A
limited number of promotional copies
were sent out to various websites
towards the tail end of 2005 to generate
interest, and the reviews have been
phenomenal;
Rock n Roll Universe (USA) 5/5
Rock United (Finland) 9/10
HardRockhouse (UK) 9/10
Metaleater (Canada) 9/10
Encrucijada-Webzine (Argentina) 9/10
Sleaze-Metal (Germany) 8.5/10
Rockzine (Netherlands) 9/10
HMP (Italy) 4/5
Barikada (Bosnia and Herzegovina) 9.5/10
The album will now officially see the
light of day thanks to the good people
at MTM Music. Erol adds “I feel very
fortunate and honoured to have the CD
released by a great label such as MTM,
and I am thrilled at the fact it will
now be available to the public on a
wider scale.” Erol goes on to add
that he "wanted to personally thank
everyone who believed in the CD,
especially all the websites, magazines,
internet radio stations for their
overwhelming response, reviews, and help
in spreading the word"

MTM Announce
Details of Forthcoming Releases |
 |
MTM
Music have announced details of their
forthcoming release schedule. Albums set
to hit the shops in early 2006 include:
MAIN
ATTRACTION - “Keep On Coming Back” (MTM
MUSIC, Release: 17.02.2006)
BENNECH LYNGBOE made an early mark as a
singer/songwriter. It all started in
1987. After a few years of honing his
talents as a singer, guitarist and
songwriter, he tried out ideas with
local rock bands, both as a live and a
recording artist. In 1995, he released
his self-financed single "Leaves Of
Fall". The entire first edition of 1000
copies sold out in Bergen music stores,
and the single enjoyed 3 weeks on the
Hordaland Top Ten. Since then, Bennech
has been busy with his own and other's
studio work. In 2001 Bennech Lyngboe and
Terje Eide formed ON THE RISE and
started working on some demos which soon
raised the interest of Frontiers Records
who signed the band in June 2002.
Bennech left ON THE RISE fall 2003 to
continue his own project, he has since
been writing new material and recorded
some new song with Zolt Mezaros/drums,
Jan Martin Kleveland/bass and Ronny
Heimdal/Guitars and keyboards. He formed
the project MAIN ATTRACTION spring 2005

SABU
- “Heartbreak” (MTM MUSIC, Release:
early 2006)
SABU and ONLY CHILD were two of the late
80’s and 90’s musical vehicles for Paul,
who was dubbed “L.A. session king and
AOR hero”. SABU was the darling of
several melodic rock magazines which
described his albums as big sounding,
with lots of depth, fat keyboards,
blistering guitars and vocals combined
with a great chorus. SABU's much
sought-after albums still hold his
reputation true as Album-Oriented Rock
King. “Heartbreak” (1985) is one of
those rare albums which is now
re-released with 3 bonus tracks. In the
November 14, 2005 Kerrang Poll ...Paul
Sabu holds 2 of the greatest AOR Albums
of all time. Paul Sabu has produced,
mixed, written songs and performed with
such artists as Alice Cooper, David
Bowie, Little Caesar, Lee Aaron, Shania
Twain, Motels, Only Child, SABU, John
Waite, Robbie Neville, Malice, Wasp,
Little America, The Nelsons, Tattoo
Rodeo, Silent Rage, Elvira, Teri Tims
and Madonna. His film and TV credits
include “Accused”, “Ghoulies II”, “Trick
or Treat”, “Ghost Town”, “To Die For”,
“Twin Sitters”, “Hard Rock Zombies”,
“American Drive-In”, “Million Dollar
Mystery”, “Vice Versa”, The Heights, all
rock songs for “WKRP in Cincinnati”,
“Sex and the City”, “Beverly Hills,
90210”, “Baywatch”, “Diving In”,
Meatballs 4”, “Assault of the Killer
Bimbos”, and the list goes on.

Only
a month or so after announcing that L.A
Guns/Brides of Destruction guitarist
Tracii Guns was joining their ranks,
Quiet Riot have confirmed that they
have parted ways with the six stringer.
In a posting on their website Quiet Riot
state that "Although we all had high
hopes and the best intentions for the
success of our association, it became
evident collectively that the musical
diversity of styles would not work to
our mutual satisfaction. Rather than go
into the recording studio unsure of the
outcome, Quiet RIot and Tracii Guns have
decided to amicably part company but
remain friends and hold each other in
the highest respect."
Glenn Hughes has posted the
following message on his website with
regard to the recording process for his
new album: "I just wanted to let you all
know that we are really hard at work up
at Chad's house in the Hollywood hills
recording the new album. As you know I
always get really involved in making my
music and you may have heard me say this
before, but this is without a doubt my
finest hour. I have worked really hard
and put in a lot of extra time to ensure
that the songs are strong. Chad is
really a great producer and he is
working me to the bone. We wrote a new
song on Saturday in the studio that is
possibly one of the best songs I've ever
written. The album will be finished at
the end of the month and we will mix the
first week of march. I can tell you
this: the album will have the most
variety of my musical styles as it is
where I am in my life. It is honest, and
I believe I will push the boat further.
I hope you all enjoy the ride".
Sacred Heart will head into the
studio early March to start recording
their new CD - tentatively called
"Shake". The album will feature twelve
tracks and although "Lay It On The
Line", their previous CD is considered
an album - the band are treating the
upcoming CD as their first official
debut as LIOTL was only meant to be a
demo!
The track-listing is as follows: Afraid,
Paradise,Natali, Perfect,maybe, promise,
fall, Lift You Up, Shake, Carry On, Lost
and 1000 Tears. The album is made up of
original but classically influenced hard
rock songs & power ballads - mixed with
a hint of modern - and features the
trademark SACRED HEART sing-a-long
melodies.

Ricky Warwick |
 |
According to Blabbermouth.net former
Almighty frontman Ricky Warwick is
involved in a new project alongside
former Cult members Billy Duffy and
Billy Morrison & Velvet Revolver drummer
Matt Sorum. The foursome have been
working together at Sorum's Drac Studios
tracking several songs written by Duffy,
Warwick and Morrison.
Commented Morrison: "CIRCUS DIABLO began
with some songwriting sessions with
Billy Duffy, Ricky Warwick and myself.
For no reason other than to write some
rock songs and have some fun. We ended
up writing quite a few tracks, and we
have begun to record a few of them over
at Drac Studios, owned by Matt Sorum. He
has been playing drums on the recordings
(as well as co-producing the tracks with
us), Billy and Ricky have been recording
the guitars, and I have ….. well, I
appear to be the singer! It feels good
to be able to express myself in this
way. (I haven't done that since
STIMULATOR). All three of us have a
myriad of other commitments, so this is
just a homegrown, cottage industry-type
affair. But we have enjoyed writing
music together, and we are definitely
enjoying recording music together. If
schedules permit, we might even go and
play a few shows together. But we are
doing everything ourselves, and are not
out there thinking about deals, tours,
release dates etc. Take it for what it
is — a reason to be creative, a reason
to make music. So there you have it."
Look out for an interview with Ricky and
a review of his solo live gig at
Newcastle Carling Academy on

 |
Lacuna
Coil are set to release their latest
full-length effort, entitled Karmacode, on
April 4th via Century Media Records. The
highly anticipated follow-up to their
acclaimed commercial breakthrough album,
Comalies, was co-produced by Waldemar
Sorychta and Lacuna Coil in Germany and
Italy, while the album was both mixed by
Ronald Prent (Rammstein, H.I.M., Iron
Maiden) and mastered by Darcy Proper (Steely
Dan, Porcupine Tree, R.E.M.) at Galaxy
Studios in Belgium. Asterik Studio (Trapt,
Funeral For A Friend, The Used) the
Grammy-nominated design firm, is handling
the package design for Karmacode.
Says vocalist Cristina Scabbia, “I imagine
it’s easy for everyone to understand how
truly exited we are for the world to hear
the new material. It’ll give everyone the
chance to hear the growth that the band has
experienced over the past couple of years. I
simply cannot wait to get out and play the
new songs live, there will definitely be a
lot of energy coming from the stage next
year!”
Guitarist Cristiano Migliore adds, “It’s
taken a long time to put together these
songs and I can say they’re the best ones
we’ve ever written! Working with old friends
as well as new ones has been incredibly
exciting and we had the chance to mix in one
of the best studios in the world so, really,
what else could we ask for? I’m definitely
sure our fans will love the music just as
much as they’ll love the artwork that
Asterik has created for Karmacode!”
The track list for Karmacode is as follows:
Fragile, To The Edge, Our Truth, Within Me,
Devoted, You Create, What I See, Fragments
Of Faith, Closer, In Visible Light, The

Underworld: Evolution soundtrack on January
10th alongside Puscifer (Maynard Kennan’s

Chester Bennington (Linkin Park), Slipknot,
My Chemical Romance, Atreyu, and more. “We
all loved the 1st Underworld movie and
soundtrack and knowing we’ll be part of this
soundtrack alongside all these great bands
is awesome!” says Cristiano. “It’s
incredible to see all this interest in our
band and every time something like this
happens it’s definitely surreal. It’s also
going to be a great chance to see what
people think of the new stuff! Let’s keep
our fingers crossed!”
A video for “Our Truth” was shot in Los
Angeles by Fort Awesome, a brand-new
directorial duo, whose individual directing
credits include Queens of the Stone Age,
Linkin Park, Disturbed, Chevelle, Atreyu,
Shadows Fall, and more. “The experience of
shooting the video was a wonderful one, for
sure” adds Cristina, “Both the band and the
crew worked from sunset to sunrise in the
Hollywood Hills, remaining 100% focused and
after all was said and done we believe we
pulled off a masterpiece of a video we’re

Quick Updates |
 |
2006
kicks off with news of departures of members
from two bands that have featured heavily on
HardRockHouse over the last year. Firstly
just a
month or so after announcing that American
Duane Cole was to be their new guitarist, M.ill.ion have parted ways with the six
stringer. In a posting on the band's website
(www.million.o.se)
the remaining members state “Jonas'
shoes are hard to fill and although Duane is
a great guy, it now stands clear that he's
not right for this band. We wish him the
best.”
Interested guitarists should contact the
band a.s.a.p. A new M.ILL.ION album is
planned for 2006 and touring offers are
waiting to be confirmed. Send bio, photo and
CD to: M.ILL.ION MUSIC c/o Laneby,
Klintegårdsv.39, 43332 Partille, Sweden or
e-mail
band@million.o.se Keywords:
“Recording and performing experience, good
ear, rock 'n' roll attitude, backing vocals”
Also
leaving his position is bassist Steve
Mckenna who has left British rockers Ten.
Mckenna, along with Ten mainman Gary Hughes,
reached this decision just prior to
Christmas. Steve had been a loyal servant to
the band for the best part of eight years
and his departure from the ranks is by
amicable agreement. Steve's ultimate career
aim is to give up his day job and focus on
his music by making himself available to do
more session work. This would not be
possible within the highly prioritised
confines of Ten. This coupled with
Steve's unavailability to participate on the
new forthcoming studio album, had made the
timing of his departure, and the decision
for him to do so, obvious to all. Ten would
like to wish Steve all he hopes for.
Ten are currently immersed in the studio
creating their eighth album. The new Ten
studio opus, as yet untitled, is scheduled
up for late March release in Japan with
Europe to follow two weeks later.
Matt
Mitchell, former vocalist with now
defunct UK rock band Pride has a new website
online which can be found at
www.mattmitchellmusic.com
Former
Asia partners Geoff Downes & John Wetton,
who last year released the 'Icon' album
together have a lined up a UK tour during
March. Billed as Wetton/Downes Icon and
featuring John Mitchell & Steve Christey
alongside the mainmen the tour will take in
the following dates & venues:
Mar 1st -
Deal Astor Theatre
Mar 2nd - Wolverhampton Robin 2
Mar 3rd - London Mean Fiddler
Mar 4th - Rotherham Oakwood Ctre
Mar 9th Newcastle Carling Academy
Mar 10th - Glasgow Renfrew Ferry
Bloodstock 2006 have announced that the
UK's reformed thrashers Onslaught have been
confirmed to join Primal Fear, Machine Men,
Omnium Gatherum, Died Smiling, Enemy
Unknown, Beyond Afterlife and Steel
Tormentor as the first eight bands for the
6th annual Bloodstock Festival to be held at
the Assembly Rooms in Derby on 29th - 30th

Dig Jelly? -
Press Release |
 |
Hot off
the heels of a 45-city tour with Veruca
Salt, L.A.'s hottest alternative rockers Dig
Jelly are riding high in support of their
new CD release For Your Inner Angry Child .
The band, who's music has been described as
"energetic, hook-driven, mind-blowingly,
in-your-face Metal with a dose of Hip-Hop,"
recently signed a three-album deal with
Santa Monica based label Centerline
Entertainment. International distribution of
For Your Inner Angry Child will be handled
by IDN (Innovative Distribution Network),
one of the leading distributors of
independent labels in the U.S.
Dig Jelly's dynamic appeal can in part be
attributed to multi-talented, Japanese-born
female lead singer, Rayko, who captivatingly
fronts the band. Partially produced by music
industry veteran Richard Kaplan (Korn/Slipknot/Limp
Bizkit), For Your Inner Angry Child has been
ripping up the airwaves throughout the U.S.
Likewise the band's new CD release has
garnered rave reviews from fans and critics
worldwide. Here's what some of the music
press have been ranting:
"Their schizoid sound bounds from matinee
pop to hip-hop to punk to alternative to
stoner metal. No disc in recent memory can
claim such a ridiculous range of styles" -
Music Connection
"A perfect blend of hip-hop and heavy rock,
Dig Jelly has captured the energy of their
live show and detailed it out in the studio
with excellent production and tight
musicianship." - Song Net
"Welcome to the hard rocking non-stop world
of Dig Jelly. A world of heart breaking
songs and blood, sweat and tears indie
rock/pop with a lethal dose of hip-hop punk,
all delivered by a beautiful woman with
brains, guts, mischievous angel's voice, and
a body to die for." - Yolk Magazine
Centerline President Howard Lipp declares,
"Look out for Rayko and Dig Jelly - this
girl is on fire, coming your way to scorch
you're a**"
Dig Jelly
was recently selected for the Aims Listening
Post Program in January 2006. Also, the band
is in the planning stages of bringing their
special brand of modern hip-hop rock to
Europe, with a world tour in 2006.
