Queens of The Stone Age |
|||||
|
Queens of the Stone Age have been forced to halt their mini-tour, which included two shows in London on March 3rd, after singer Josh Homme began coughing up blood in his Paris hotel room. What doctors in Amsterdam initially diagnosed as the flu was found to be a serious lung infection. This resulted in his immediate return to the United States. The band issued the following statement to the fans on its website: "We've toured with everything from broken ankles to bruised livers, but simply weren't prepared for this relentless attack of teeming bacteria. Our fans know that we ain't pussys and this is an obvious downer for everyone involved. All we really wanted to do was play our new tunes for everybody, and turn this "promo tour" into more of a party. So, for those of you with any unused tickets, hold on to them. We'll be back as soon as possible to make up these shows, and when we do, we'll have something special for all of you with an un-ripped ticket. We ain't in the habit of canceling, and we don't forget." |

SEBASTIAN BACH, CHILDREN OF BODOM, HAMMERFALL
AND WITHIN TEMPTATION TO HEADLINE BLOODSTOCK FESTIVALS IN
2005
It is with great excitement that we can
announce that BLOODSTOCK 2005 will comprise 2
separate festivals. The brand new outdoor show
BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR ( B-O-A ) will take place on June 24th-25th
2005 at Catton Hall, in the Midlands, with the annual
BLOODSTOCK05 – UK Metalfest taking place indoors
at the Assembly Rooms in Derby on 2nd-3rd
September 2005.
With the indoor festival now having reached capacity within the current location, the next logical step was to find an additional location, and the decision to go outdoors was an easy choice to make as the UK does not have an outdoor Euro-style Metal festival along the lines of Wacken, Bang Your Head and Summer Breeze (DE), Gods of Metal (ITA), Sweden Rock (SWE), Graspop (B), Dynamo (N) and so many more. The current choice of venue, Catton Hall, offers a fantastic location within a rural setting, centrally located within the UK for all areas to reach easily, and yes, camping will be provided. Our initial capacity is for up to 8,000 with further growth at the site to accommodate 20,000 within a few more years. "Bloodstock is a European Metal Festival. It has taken 5 years to get to this stage, and I think you will see from the combined line-up of the two shows this year, about 40 bands, that we have a world class festival for the UK to now shout out about! And we continue to bring to the UK the big European bands playing to big UK audiences. We were the first to bring to the UK Nightwish, Primal Fear, Blind Guardian, Masterplan and Sonata Arctica, and with Hammerfall and Within Temptation making their second ever UK appearances this year, Bloodstock is getting bigger and better!", so says Vince Brotheridge, who along with renowned artist Paul Raymond Gregory, make up AMUST4MUSIC, the organisers of Bloodstock. BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR – JUNE 24-25 2005. Taking the stage at the BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR in June will be some of the best bands to have appeared at the previous indoor festivals, CHILDREN OF BODOM, EDGUY, EVERGREY, MASTERPLAN, PANIC CELL, FOURWAYKILL and HUMANITY, who will be joined by SEBASTIAN BACH (ex Skid Row – headlining his first ever UK festival on the Friday night – June 24th), and MOSTLY AUTUMN both making their Bloodstock debut. It is with pleasure that we have MOSTLY AUTUMN on the bill who are in essence the UK’s foremost "Epic Rock" band regularly compared to Pink Floyd, and have built an amazing following over the past few years. They will offer a welcome classic rock feel to the proceedings. Several more bands will be added to the B-O-A within the next few weeks. BLOODSTOCK UK METALFEST – SEPT 02-03 2005. The traditional BLOODSTOCK UK METALFEST in September will play host to 25 bands in 2005, many of them making their debut UK appearance. HAMMERFALL, STORMWARRIOR, BOB CATLEY, CONQUEST OF STEEL and WARCHILD will head up a night of Battle Metal on the Friday, with WITHIN TEMPTATION, AFTER FOREVER, IRON SAVIOR, CATHEDRAL, RISE TO ADDICTION, and SEASON’S END scheduled for the Saturday, with more surprise bands being announced soon. Full details of the two events can be found at the website www.bloodstock.uk.com. Tickets are now on sale for both shows. |

Helloween |
|||||
|
Helloween and drummer Stefan Schwarzmann have parted ways amicably. The former Running Wild & UDO drummer, who played the drums during the pumpkin heads' Rabbit Don't Come Easy tour, will not be playing for the Hamburg based band any longer. During the tour it became apparent to Stefan and to the rest of the members of Helloween that, although things were going extremely well on the human side of things, Stefan and the band did not entirely share the same views musically. Stefan decided to stay to help out the band during their pre-production until a replacement was found. Dani Löble, highly acclaimed ex-drummer of Rawhead Rexx turned out to be the perfect man for Helloween. Dani, an exceptional talent known to many musical insiders, has already finished most of the drum recordings for Helloween's follow-up album to Rabbit Don't Come Easy. Helloween fans can anticipate awe-inspiring loads of double bass madness and the trademark Helloween style of songs and arrangements on their upcoming album. |

Gods of Rock |
|||||
|
Following a year of inactivity, The Gods returns to the UK on
the weekend of May 6th and 7th 2005, at The Town and Country
Club, Bradford (formerly Penningtons). Over the last twelve
years the Gods festival has become synonymous with quality
melodic hard rock and 2005 promises to be no different. This
years event is presented as a co-production between Fireworks
Magazine, Now and Then Records and Emerald Productions and
promises to be the melodic hard rock event of the year in
England, if not the whole of Europe. Throughout the years the
Gods has played host to such luminaries as Harem Scarem,
Tyketto, Crown Of Thorns, James Christian, Eric Martin, Bob
Catley, Stan Bush, Mark Free, Hardline, Talisman, Royal Hunt,
Ken Tamplin, Hugo, Honeymoon Suite, Ten, Two Fires, Mitch Malloy
and many others. The criteria for the 2005 festival was simple;
put together the best line up possible from all areas of melodic
hard rock, and the promoters are confident that not only have
they reached their goal, but surpassed it. The
festival will kick off in T&C 2 on Friday night, May 6th with
full electric performances from Sweden's House of Shakira and
Brighton boys, Pride. They will be joined by one more band (to
be confirmed) in what the organisers hope will be a very casual
show, allowing fans and bands to hang out and share a beer or
two. In the spirit of the previous Gods, it's hoped all the acts
performing will make it along to the night and enjoy the vibe
that is only generated

|||||
|
RED
CIRCLE DVS Alias Eye are a hugely original German progressive rock band. Their second album, "A Different Point Of You" continues the quality and diversity from the critically acclaimed debut bringing in elements of classical, jazz and even funk music. For example, A Clown’s Tale, the first track on the album, boasts a host of Arabian instruments that are combined with heavy guitar riffs and extended vocal parts, whereas Too Much Toulouse wallows in the melancholy of a 30ies jazz club. Get ready for the ride! Silent Edge, on the other hand, are a Dutch based progressive symphonic metal band whose debut album, "The Eyes Of The Shadow" combines Symphony X and Dream Theater style progressive metal with neo-classical influences of bands such as Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force and Royal Hunt. To confirm a story that appeared late last night, Quiet Riot have now definitely cancelled the four UK shows that they had planned for February. The dates affected are: 11th Feb -
Bradford Rios In an email from drummer Frankie Banali he advised that the promoter of the UK shows chose to cancel the dates and advised the bands agent in the US on January 21st. Frankie further went on to state that "QUIET RIOT was ready and willing to depart for the UK to perform for the UK fans and friends, but the promoters decision left us with no recourse." and further that the band "were really looking forward to these dates and had no intention of disappointing the fans." At this time various ticket outlets in the UK are still selling tickets for the shows, however HardRockHouse.com would advise readers of this site and fans of Quiet Riot, based on the above information, not to purchase tickets as these shows will no longer take place. if you have already purchased tickets for the show then check with the place you bought tickets for further information. |
