Majestic Rock Update...
September sees Majestic Rock
release a live album from
Waysted, a reissue from
Marshall Law, the debut
album from Japan’s power metal
sensations Wizards' Hynm,
the much talked of 4 disc
Heavy Pettin’ box set….and
the first two releases on their
new label Krescendo records….
Recorded last September on the
band’s ‘Back From The Dead’
tour. Waysted’s
‘Organised Chaos…Live’ is all
you could want and expect from a
live record from Pete Way n’ the
boys. Marshall Law’s ‘Powergame’,
previously only available in
Japan in 1993, finally gets a
full European release. Produced
by Robin George, this thunderous
affair is a must for fans of
Priest style metal.
Wizards' Hynm release
their debut album ‘Hymnal’ in
September, and this female
fronted Japanese melodic power
metal act have much to offer the
genre. As the recent Masterpiece
release showed, the Japanese
have a precision in this field
that borders on the
breathtaking!
The Heavy Pettin’ 4 disc
box set ‘Pettology’ sees the
light of day in September,
containing the two Polydor
albums, the ‘Live At The Astoria
1984’ DVD and the audio disc of
the live show plus many
previously unseen photos in a
deluxe box and limited to 1000
copies world wide…well, you’d be
daft not to, wouldn’t you…?
Which brings us to our new baby,
Krescendo Records. Aimed fairly
and squarely at a more
contemporary audience, Krescendo
is set to be Majestic Rock’s
younger, snottier brother. First
up will be the ‘Who Knows The
Unknown’ mini album from London
metal act PDHM and the
intriguingly named ‘Super Pony’
from Bristol based alternative
rockers Mono Effecto. More to
follow…..
Century
Media
have
announced
the signing
of In
This Moment
to the
label. The
Southern
California
based
quintet
quickly
became one
of the most
talked about
artists
within the
local scene
due to the
intensity of
frontwoman
Maria Brink
and an
undying work
ethic. This
buzz carried
over to the
band’s
MySpace page
resulting in
over 105,000
friends and
over 800,000
plays.
The group’s
song writing
blends
together a
propulsive
mixture of
metal and
hard rock
elements
that will
quickly help
them carve
out their
own unique
niche within
the scene.
The
diversity
and depth of
their song
writing is
refreshing
and their
musical
prowess is
simply
undeniable.
In This
Moment
further
describe
their
thoughts on
the new deal
and upcoming
album; “We
are very
excited to
be a part of
the Century
Media family
and to be
included in
the CM
roster along
with so many
great bands
is truly an
honor for
us. Words
really can’t
describe how
great it
feels to be
starting our
career with
such a great
label behind
us. We are
so thankful
for all the
opportunities
we have been
given.
“We also
just
finished
recording
our debut
album with
Eric Rachel
(Dillinger
Escape Plan,
God Forbid)
at Trax
East, which
was an
amazing
experience.
Eric
exceeded our
expectations
in every way
and he was
able to
bring out
the best in
all of us.
It was
definitely
five weeks
we will
never
forget.”
In This
Moment’s
debut
offering is
set for a
spring 2007
release.
According to
Blabbermouth.net
Brazilian
metal
stalwarts
Angra
are to
release
their latest

Def
Leppard - Press Release |
 |
On the 3rd August 1987 British rock
band Def Leppard released the album
"HYSTERIA". Already a major force in
rock music, "HYSTERIA" catapulted
the band into the stratosphere. The
statistics for "Hysteria" are
astounding. The album has sold in
excess of 17 million copies and
counting. Due to the incredible
success of previous album
"PYROMANIA" (released in 1983) and
"HYSTERIA" Def Leppard are one of
only five rock groups who can claim
two separate original 10 million
plus selling albums in the US. The
others are The Beatles, Led
Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Van Halen.
The "Hysteria" album also spawned 7
hit singles! Enormous hits such as
"POUR SOME SUGAR ON ME", "ANIMAL",
"LOVE BITES", "ARMAGEDDON IT" and
"ROCKET" are rock staples that still
enjoy huge popularity today and have
helped make Def Leppard Britain's
greatest ever arena rock band. The

b-sides, live b-sides and remixes
together for the first time. The
deluxe edition will also feature
exclusive expanded booklet and
artwork (including a forward by
Rolling Stone senior editor David
Fricke).
Having sold over 65 million albums
worldwide since their debut release
in 1980 and proved themselves one of
rock music's hardest working and
consistently powerful live bands
(playing to over 50 million fans in
the last 15 years alone), Def
Leppard's "HYSTERIA DELUXE EDITION"
is an album not to miss.
Full track listing for "HYSTERIA
DELUXE EDITION" is as follows:

Shai Hulud - Press Release |
 |
Metal Blade Records have announced
the signing of SHAI HULUD! Yes the
rumors are true… Shai Hulud is back
together and has recently signed a
deal with Metal Blade Records and
are about to hit the road for a
string of dates in Europe with
Parkway Drive and Remembering Never.
Shortly after Shai Hulud returns to
the States they will head out with
Dead To Fall, Twelve Tribes, and
label mates Phoenix Mourning for the
Call No Man Happy Who Is Not Dead
Tour

Once the band is done touring they
will spend the winter months writing
material for their Metal Blade debut
which will be out in the
Spring/Summer 2007. More information
will be made available as it comes
in including tour updates from the
guys, updates on the writing
process, what studio and producer
they plan on going with and studio
reports once they start recording.
“Having been intensely fanatic
about the majority of their bands
(yes, even The Goo Goo Dolls, but
more so Cryptic Slaughter) for
upwards of 20 years, we are honored
to be welcomed to their family. Like
I told the label, Metal Blade may
very well be more responsible for
raising me than my mother. Sorry
Mom, but you must admit I spent
quite a lot of time with Slayer and
Voivod in those formative years...
We plan on spending this coming
winter writing for our Metal Blade
debut. This summer, in case those
interested aren't aware, we are
touring Europe with our pals in
Remembering Never and Parkway Drive.
We follow that up with two 3 week
jaunts in The States with yet more
pals of ours; the first 3 weeks
we'll be out with Dead To Fall and
Phoenix Mourning. The second 3 weeks
100 Demons picks up where Dead To
Fall leaves off, and Iowa 's premier
bodybuilders Ignite The Will join us
for select dates. Twelve Tribes and
One Dead Three Wounded will be
rocking the tour all 6 weeks. All in
all that's not such a bad way to
spend some time. We're more than
happy to worsen our hearing with
such quality noise. We're definitely
too old. Turn it down!”
Matt Fox Shai Hulud
“All of us here at Metal Blade
are absolutely thrilled to be
working with a band that is as
influential as Shai Hulud and can’t
wait to get started working their MB
debut. We definitely expect to see
great things from Matt Fox and Co.
and will make sure we do everything
in our power to help them along the
way. 2007 is going to be one hell of
a year for Metal Blade and I’m
grateful that Shai Hulud will be a
part of that.”
Metal Blade
“I remember seeing Shai Hulud at
Furnace Fest 2002 and they were the
best band there! They've influenced
so many of the bands that are up and
coming right now, including As I Lay
Dying. When Matt first sent me the
new demos, I was honored to give my
recommendation to Metal Blade and
I’m happy to see they are now part
of the MB family.”
Tim Lambesis As I Lay
Dying
“Shai
Hulud were one of the pioneers of
melodic hardcore. When I say
melodic, I mean crushing yet melodic
music, with emotionally driven heavy
vocals that will tear your soul
open. Without these guys
metal/hardcore would not sound the
way it does today. They were and
still are a musical influence for
me.”
Trevor
Phipps Unearth.
As part of their Summer European
tour, with special guests Parkway
Drive & Remembering Never, Shai
Hulud play the following UK shows:
28th August - Swindon The Furnace
29th August - Leeds JoSepths Well
30th August - Aberdeen Moshulu
31st August - Manchester Music Box
1st Septtember - Newport TJ`s

Quick Updates |
 |
Winterville have lined up a
show at the Camden Barfly in London
on Septtember 12th as part of the
"Ones To Watch" showcase
series. The band have also been
nominated in the 'Best New Band'
section of the 2006 Classic Rock
Magazine Awards.
Megadeth
have reportedly pushed back the
release of their new album.
Originally scheduled to be released
this autumn via Roadrunner Records.
Entitled 'United Abominations' the
album is now likely to surface in
early 2007. Speaking to
Billboard.com band mainman Dave
Mustaine commented ""We're putting
the finishing touches on it, We've
got a little more work before it's
finished, but it should be out some
time next year."
Mustaine says an initial Oct. 31
release date for the album,
Megadeth's first as part of a new
deal with Roadrunner Records, was
"wishful thinking," and both the
group and label felt a 2007 release
was preferable to November or
December of this year.
The singer/guitarist says the album,
which he's producing with Jeff
Balding, "has a lot of variation on
it. It's got some surprises, but
there's a really old-school vein to
it, I would say." The group has been
careful not to rush the album,
either, holding sessions in London,
Los Angeles and Nashville since
earlier this year.
"We're taking our time with this
one," Mustaine says. "It's a great
feeling to make a record and not
have our feet held to the fire. One
of my heroes growing up was Kiss,
but they really frustrated me 'cause
they would put out a record just
about every year. I couldn't figure
that out. I pretty much have a cycle
of about 18 months to 24 months
between records. I just can't put
them out any quicker than that and
feel comfortable about them."
Killswitchs Engage have
announced their forthcoming album
title in an interview with MTV.COM.
Christned' As Daylight Dies' the
album is likely to surface in
November through Roadrunner Records
"It's the softest thing we've ever
done," bassist Mike D'Antonio joked
to MTV.com from a cell phone in
England, where this weekend, the
Ozzfest veterans will be taking the
stages of the Reading and Leeds
festivals. "They were calling us
metalcore for a long time, and now
we're going to have to add another
word — like emo metalcore. We'll
need to create yet another genre,
and people will start wearing
dresses after listening to this
thing."
Of course, nothing could be further
from the truth. "There was really
hardly any thought put into it at
all," he recalled. "It just came out
and we hadn't written in so long
that everyone had a lot to
contribute. It felt more like the
sessions for [2002's] 'Alive or Just
Breathing', where everyone was
contributing, and everyone had a
say. That is more, to me, what the
KILLSWITCH style is. But, it is the
typical line that everyone gives you
— that this is a heavier album — but
it kind of is. It's definitely way
heavier. There are still the melodic
choruses here and there, and there's
a lot to latch onto. But it's
heavy."
"As Daylight Dies" is the result of
more than a month and a half in the
studio with KILLSWITCH guitarist and
one of metal's "it" producers, Adam
Dutkiewicz (UNDEROATH, ALL THAT
REMAINS). Dutkiewicz will also be
mixing the record, which will
feature a dozen songs, including
"This Is Absolution", "For You" and
the title track.

Zeno - Press Release |
 |
MTM MUSIC have announced the release
of the brand new ZENO album "Runway
To The Gods"

It always takes many years until
Zeno pleases AOR and Classic Rock
fans with a new album. But when the
album is finally released – it’s
always a masterpiece! Now, 8 years
after “Listen To The Light“, Zeno
returns with another rock jewel
called “Runway To The Gods“!
In 1984, Zeno Roth the younger
brother of Uli Jon Roth formed the
band Zeno with Ule Ritgen (Fair
Warning). Zeno's self-titled first
album was released in 1985 and the
band toured with Black Sabbath,
Krokus, Keel and also played a
festival with Queen in the UK. His
first album, its follow-up "Zenology"
and “Listen To The Light” reached
many different charts, #25 in the
‘Foreign Music Charts’ and #2 in the
‘Rock Music Charts’ among others.
After 8 years the wait is finally
over: “Runway To The Gods“ is a
masterpiece of finest musicianship,
song writing and production.
Sophisticated arrangements with
strong melodies and an outstanding
instrumentation make this album play
in heavy rotation. With “Runway To
The Gods”, Zeno Roth impressively
proves what a fantastic musician he
is: he recorded most of the album on
his own and even performed the lead
vocals on one song. The other lead
vocals are handled by no other than
former Jaded HeartT singer Michael
Bormann, who delivers an awesome
performance on this album. Truly a
highlight!

The release of "Runway To The God"
is scheduled on MTM MUSIC in October
20th with the following track
listing:
Fanfares Of Love, Climb The Sky,
Land Of Illusion, Shades Of Blue,
Runway To The Gods, Sogno Di Angelo,
Refugees (Longing For Paradise), I
Feel - I Live, Purify (Pilgrims Of
Remembrance), Do You Feel The Time
