Michael Thompson Band

Frontiers Records have announced the reissue of the Michael Thompson Band's masterpiece "How Long" on June 8th 2007.

In order to coincide with the release of Michael Thompson's new band's debut album TRW's "Rivers of Paradise", Frontiers and Michael agreed that it was a perfect time to re-release this masterpiece on the same day.

In 1988, after working to try and get a deal with his band Slang for several years, Thompson got signed by Geffen Records to release one album entitled "How Long", under the Michael Thompson Band (MTB) monicker.

The singer for this group was Rick 'Moon' Calhoun, previously front man for the AOR cult band THE STRAND, Michael's long time friend. Completing the line-up were another bunch of highly respected studio professionals such as: John Andrew Schreiner (on keyboards), Leon Gaer (bass), John Keane (drums).

On "How Long" more musicians appeared, in particular drummer-maestro Terry Bozzio, Pat Torpey (of MR BIG), bassist Jimmy Haslip, ex KANSAS vocalist John Elefante, TOTO's Bobby Kimball and GREAT WHITE associates Michael Lardie and Wyn Davis (who also produced the album).

As of today "How Long" is regarded as one of the highest examples of hi-tech AOR / West Coast, with a superb production and immaculate songwriting. During the years it became more and more of a collector's item and the prices paid on E-bay exceeded 80 dollars!

This 2007 reissue comes completely remastered and adds two songs which were recorded during the original sessions and the first fruit of a reunion between Michael, Moon Calhoun and songwriter Jeff Paris entitled "Wheelchair": an appetizer for an upcoming brand new album to be expected sometime in 2008 !

The final track listing of "How Long" reissue will be as follows:

Secret Information, Give Love a Chance, 1000 Nights, Wasteland, Never Stop Falling, Can't Miss, Gloria, Stranger, Baby Come Back, How Long, Right To Be Wrong, Love Goes On and Wheelchair.

In the meanwhile track listing for the highly anticipated album from TRW (the new alliance between Michael Thompson with former BRIDGE 2 FAR members and top-session players John Robinson and Mark Williamson) has been finalized.

The album "Rivers of Paradise" will include the following tracks:

Set My Spirit Free, Rivers of Paradise, Hold On, Indiscretion, Gonna Be Some Changes, Only a Letter, Hard Time Love; One Good Woman; Love Comes Callin' and Alimony Blues

30th April 2007

Undergroove have announced the latest member to the family - the genre-smashing *Shels!

Formed by former Mahumodo frontman Medi Safa *Shels will release their glorious debut album 'Sea Of The Dying Dhow' through Undergroove on June 18.Recorded both in Medi's current Los Angeles place of residence as well as London, UK, *Shels will simply blow you away! An hour of progressive emotional soundscapes and raw brutality, 'Sea of the Dying Dhow' also features members of Eden Maine, Mahumodo and Fireapple Red. Combining beauty and primal intensity in music is a mean feat many can't ever fathom. For *Shels, creating truly loving art that genuinely moves the listener is second nature.

For over an hour 'Sea Of The Dying Dhow' illustrates the passion and uniqueness that music should possess. 'The Sea of The Dying Dhow' opens with over nine minutes of ultimate escapism with the truly inspiring 'The Conference of the Birds'. Tender acoustics, strings, and brass wrapped up in wondrous glistening soundscapes and gentle yet thunderous drums truly encapsulate throughout.

'The White Umbrella' drives a harder edge, while 'Water' sees *Shels promote their ability to write a perfect infectious emotional pop ditty. The title track is a brooding hard-hitting monster, while the album closes with 'In Dead Palm Fields'. A romantic nine-plus minute that erupts with fervour, crushing your senses to complete overdrive.

*Shels was formed in 2004 following the split of Medi's former band Mahumodo. While some of his former bandmates went on to form Devil Sold His Soul, Medi (born in America of Lebanese and Iranian parents) relocated to Los Angeles. There he wrote the music that has become *Shels. Taking inspiration from past experiences Safa was unafraid to push his musical boundaries further in his artistic vision. Bringing in a credible set of musicians - former members of Eden Maine (Undergroove) and Fireapple Red (Visible Noise) - Medi is realising his musical dream.

After the self-release of *Shels debut EP, "WingsForTheirSmiles' (2004), *Shels debut album proper 'The Sea Of The Dying Dhow' captures easily one of the most forward thinking progressive rock bands ever to come out of the UK's underground.

'Sea of the Dying Dhow' is released on Undergroove on June 18 2007.

The Hold Steady are to release a new single, entitled 'Stuck Between Stations' on May 4th.

THE HOLD STEADY make quality rock’n’roll. Like Thin Lizzy playing Jonathan Richman songs or AC/DC riffing through Springsteen’s ‘Born To Run’. The Brooklyn-based Minneapolis-bred band are drawing comparisons with all of those plus The Replacements, Guided By Voices, Van Morrison, Girls Against Boys and Hüsker Dü.

Taken from the current album ‘Boys And Girls In America’ (a reference to a line from Jack Kerouac's classic novel ‘On the Road’) ‘Stuck Between Stations’ is perhaps the albums signature tune. Singer Craig Finn explains, "The line goes, 'Boys and girls in America have such a sad time together.' Basically, the songs on the album are about guys and girls, and love.” Make that doomed or unrequited love and throw in drug abuse, suicide and gambling and you get the picture.” The songs are populated by larger than life characters like you’d expect on a Tom Waits record.

In combination with Finn’s lyrical wit and wisdom, Tad Kubler’s guitar is a driving force - the guitars are louder, the solos are longer and the result is a classic rock n roll. With ‘Boys And Girls In America’, THE HOLD STEADY show their love of writing, making and playing rock n roll for the sake of it; ripe with anthemic choruses, genre defining and mind blowing guitar solos, great lyrics and the masterful mix of the keyboards, drums and bass along with several sonic treats. Kubler sums it up, "We're not reinventing rock music here. We're just trying to carry on a tradition that has always been in our lives."

Dinosaur Jr, who released a new single on April 23rd, entitled “Been There All The Time” which is available on a limited quantity of 7” vinyl, and as a download will play London's Scala on June 26th

“Been There All The Time” was written by J. Mascis whilst the single's B-Side, “Back To Your Heart”, was written by Lou Barlow. Both tracks were recorded at J Mascis’s Bisquiteen Studios and are taken from the band’s forthcoming album “Beyond”

After recording three albums, “Dinosaur”, “Bug” and “You’re Living All Over Me” Dinosaur Jr. single-handedly moved the indie scene from the rigid ideology and rapid fire bursts of hardcore and post-punk into a new era of introspective yet no less powerful expression. After the release of “Bug” the original trio of J Mascis, Lou Barlow and Murph imploded.

Fast forward to 2005: a tentative reunion was undertaken to support the re-issues; a TV show here, a club appearance and some Japanese dates there. In the 16 years since the band had toured a lot had changed. The mix of influences and the sheer volume of the music were no longer a semiotic problem for fans, the band members had grown up and become stronger songwriters. The band curated their own day at All Tomorrow’s Parties in May 06, and then appeared again at the Thurston Moore curated event in December, where they had to play two sets to accommodate the number of people that wanted to see them. “It was almost like they’d been reborn as a hardcore band” says Kim Gordon (Sonic Youth).

Nuclear Blast have announced the signing of Symphonic Metallers EPICA.

Formed by guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Mark Jansen in 2002, EPICA have so far released three albums, one of them a full-length soundtrack in the vein of Hollywood composers Hans Zimmer and Danny Elfman. EPICA have already toured in 24 countries all over the world including successful tours through Europe, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and the USA. Currently the band is putting the finishing touches to the upcoming and yet untitled album which is scheduled for a release in August/September this year. It was recorded at the Gate Studio with producer Sascha Paeth. The band themselves is talking about the heaviest EPICA material to date…

Zebrahead have announced detaials of a UK/Irish tour in May to promote the release of their latest album, Broadcast To The World' on SPV Records...

“If you’re looking for pedigree, Orange County’s Zebrahead have it. They’ve toured with Green Day and with Stone Temple Pilots; they have a producer, Cameron Webb, who has worked with Social Distortion and Tenacious D; the video for the track ‘Anthem’ features an appearance from Lemmy, all of which gathered them a nomination for a Grammy in the Best Metal Performance category…’Broadcast To The World’ mixes popular punk, popular metal and functional hip hop together like gravy in a cement mixer.” Ian Winwood, Metal Hammer, Summer 2006 issue.

“Crammed with radio-friendly hooks and peppered with rapper Ali Tabatabaee’s rhymes, ‘Broadcast…’ comes on like an unholy alliance of Sum 41, Good Charlotte and Linkin Park” – Paul Travers, Kerrang! August 12th 2006.

Zebrahead, who released their highly acclaimed fourth album 'Broadcast to the World' in August 2006 on SPV Records, hit the road in the UK and Ireland in April and May playing the following shows:-

30th April Belfast Auntie Annie's
1st May Dublin The Hub
2nd May Newcastle Academy 2
3rd May Glasgow Cathouse
5th May Swindon Furnace
6th May Leeds Cockpit

Hailing from Orange County in California, Zebrahead are... Matty Lewis (vocals and guitar), Ali Tabatabaee (vocals), Greg Bergdorf (guitar), Ben Osmundson (bass) and Ed Udhus (drums).

Zebrahead sold out London’s Underworld on 27th September 2006. Kerrang’s Raz Rauf rave reviewed the gig on 14th October 2006. “When did being infectious become such a good thing? It’s like chicken pox: you want to get this while you’re young, or you’ll suffer if afflicted later in life. It’s for the best. Accordingly, Zebrahead have catered their onstage banter to their loving disciples. From the moment they step onto the stage, right until they make their final farewells, toilet humour gushes from their filthy mouths and swirls round and around the sweaty bowl that is The Underworld. With the fans singing along to all songs and laughing at all the puerile gags, the band has them safely in the palms of their hands. American pogo punk hasn’t been this exiting since Blink 182 decided to grow up.”

Devildriver have finalized the track listing for its third album, "The Last Kind Words", which is scheduled for release on June 19th via Roadrunner Records. The CD was recorded at Sonic Ranch studios outside El Paso, Texas. Jason Suecof, known for his great work with TRIVIUM, CHIMAIRA, GOD FORBID, and BURY YOUR DEAD, produced the album, with engineer Mark Lewis helping out as well. Mixing duties were handled by Andy Sneap, who has previously worked with MEGADETH, MACHINE HEAD, NEVERMORE and ARCH ENEMY, among many others. The full track listing for "The Last Kind Words" is as follows:

Not All Who Wander Are Lost, Clouds Over California, Bound By The Moon, Horn Of Betrayal, These Fighting Words, Head On To Heartache (Let Them Rot), Monsters Of The Deep, Tirades Of Truth, Burning Sermon, When Summoned and The Axe Shall Fall

To coincide with the release Devildriver play the Download Festival at Donington on June 10th alongside the following headline shows of their own:

June 6th - Glasgow Cathouse
June 7th - London Camden Underworld
June 12th - Wolverhampton Little Civic

Frontiers Records has announced the signing of Swedish melodic metal hopefuls Seven Tears. Previously known as Atlantica (their demo received a great review in Sweden Rock magazine in early 2006), the band consists of Jonathan Carlemar on guitars, Fredrik Lager on bass, Kristofer von Wachenfeldt (PLATITUDE) on keyboards, Michael Sjöö (SPEARFISH) on drums and Zoran Djorem on vocals. With this line up Seven Tears recorded the demo "The Story Unfolds" which caught the attention of Frontiers Records earlier in the year and led to the current collaboration.

Commented Carlemar: "It is absolutely fantastic to get a deal with Frontiers. A dream come true!" He describes Seven tears' music as "Evergrey meets Journey: a unique mixture of melodic metal and an AOR-feeling with some prog elements. The mixture of different styles from the members' musical past gives the band a unique sound towards today's rock/metal bands."

Seven Tears are currently busy recording theri debut album under the direction of Peter Lundin at Teknik Kompaniet Studios in Vetlanda, Sweden.

Eyes Of The World, Don't Turn Away, America, Out Of Control, Dreams Are For Ever, Price Of One, Hold On, Nightmare, Night City, The Wolf, One More Lie, Victim Of The Spotlight and Hard Cold Stone.

Possibly one of the most talented, yet underrated metal acts to come out of Canada in the 1980’s had to be the band “White Wolf”. They were formed in 1980, and were very popular as a cover band, but they also wrote their own material which was warmly received by the audience. When they originally shopped their demo material they had many record company offers, including heavy Metal records and Music for Nations. The band eventually decided to go with the rapidly expanding RCA group and in 1984 signed with them for the first White Wolf release “Standing Alone”. A good deal of exposure followed and White Wolf toured the States and Eastern Canada extensively. Their popularity spread in to Japan and Europe, which helped a quarter of a million copies of the album being sold worldwide.

Two years later in 1986 the album “Endangered Species” was released and this was a very worthy follow up to the “Standing Alone” album. The album had an aura of such bands as Y & T and Triumph, but also British bands like Judas Priest and Magnum. Oddly enough the album had a cover of Magnum’s own “Just Like and Arrow”!!. However, for various reasons the band actually split up in 1987, a sad day for the band and fans alike. Even at the time there was thoughts of recording a third album…who would have thought it would not be until 20 years later!!

Later Don Wolf was to front the band “Point of Power” in 1992, record a solo album (Making Changes) and later form “Project X” with Kenny Kaos in order release an album “Blueprint for Xcess” on the Escape music label in the late 90’s (catalogue number ESM006). This was one of Escape’s earliest releases and is still highly regarded to this day!

Moving back to the present day and White Wolf, it was Escape’s own Khalil Turk that suggested to Don a new album would be a great idea. A phone call to Cam Macleod and the thoughts the band had 20 years ago had been magically resurrected. Here we are in 2007 and the White Wolf is to prowl the streets once more! The new album “Victim of a Spotlight” is soon to be released and the sound these guys have created is even better than before; this is very catchy metal and is bound to rekindle the flame for fans old and new.

Tesla have announced their first UK gig in more than decade. The band play London's Shepherd's Bush Empire on June 28th

As well as joining Aerosmith for their Hyde Park show on June 24th, former Soundgarden/Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell plays Glasgow's Carling Academy on June 27th.

Download Festival Name 2nd Stage In Honour Of Fallen Guitarist

The organisers of this years edition of the Download Festival have announced the second stage at this year’s festival will be called The Dimebag Darrell Stage. One of rock's great guitarists, Darrell was shot dead in 2004 while performing on stage. His bands Pantera, Damageplan and Rebel Meet Rebel all had great success, and festival organisers felt that this was a fitting tribute to a legendary man that has influenced and inspired many great bands.

Vinnie Paul, Dimebag's brother, and drummer in Pantera, Damageplan and Rebel Meet Rebel , said: "I am proud to announce we have the privilege of honoring my brother Dimebag Darrell by naming the Second Stage after him... This is a huge honour and I’m sure the blacktooths will be flowin'!!!!! This tribute to Dime will bring a special vibe to the Download/Donington Festival which he was part of several times and loved it... Dime's legacy continues to grow, and he lives through his music and spirit, and for the Second Stage to be named after him in association with the Download/Donington Festival, which is such a legendary event and landmark in rock history, is truly rock royalty!!!!!!! Getcha pull!!!"

Download Festival Promoter, Andy Copping pays tribute to the man himself: "Reflecting on the spirit of Download and Donington, we wanted to come up with some way of remembering Dimebag Darrell. The idea of naming a stage after him came to mind immediately. Anyone who met Dimebag, saw him play or listened to his music knows that they were in the presence of someone very unique and very special. Dimebag Darrell was one of us and if he wasn't in a band, he'd be at Download in the crowd moshing and drinking and air guitaring with the rest of us.....you can tell he loved what he did and it makes it all the more fitting that we can honour his memory by naming a stage at Download after him. Sadly he has gone but he will never, ever be forgotten. Dimebag Darrell - Download and Donington salute you"

We wanted that warmth of the two-inch tape. That way it's real. Because with ProTools, let's face it — you can make anybody sound like anything. When it comes to tape, you're recording whatever you're laying down, so you've go to feel it. We kept it real-like-live. We would do two or three takes and go in and pick the best take, maybe fix a little part here and there. Of course all my vocals were scratch — and then when I would go in to do the vocals, I would do the same thing. Sing through it like three takes and pick the best one."

TIGER ARMY NEW ALBUM AND UK TOUR DATES:

On June 4th, Tiger Army and Hellcat Records will unleash Music 'From Regions Beyond', hailed as one of 2007's "Most Anticipated Albums" by Alternative Press.

The Southern California trio follow-up to 2004's widely acclaimed III: Ghost Tigers Rise with producer Jerry Finn (AFI, Morrissey, Rancid). The forthcoming album, the first in the band's catalogue without a number in its title, is set to include the strongest material of Tiger Army's career in the form of songs such as "Forever Fades Away" and "LunaTone."

Immediately following the album's completion, Tiger Army will headline the "Return from Beyond" tour across Europe. After that: a summer long slot on the 2007 Vans Warped Tour's main stage.

The three years between Music from Regions Beyond and Ghost Tigers have seen Tiger Army transform from a mere band to an international phenomenon.

After a lengthy run as direct support for Social Distortion, Tiger Army's own "Dark Romance Tour" ended with a five night stand at the Hollywood House Of Blues, followed a few months later by four nights back-to-back at the House Of Blues in Anaheim, California. All nine shows sold-out in advance.

A handful of shows with Morrissey in the US and UK preceded a fall 2006 tour with AFI. The AFI/ Tiger Army tour ended in front of a capacity crowd at the legendary Long Beach Arena, recently documented on the platinum selling band's new DVD (which also includes a guest appearance from Nick 13, who performs the song “A Single Second” with AFI).

Tiger Army's Music from Regions Beyond is sure to become another benchmark to the band's devoted legions who relate to the group's tales of lost love, alienation, self-reliance and esoteric spirit. Many of the band's fans adorn themselves with tattoos of the Tiger Army’s signature "TigerBat" logo across their backs, chests and even hands and necks.

Tiger Army's self-titled first album (featuring AFI's Adam Carson on drums) still serves as a blueprint for new bands. II: Power of Moonlite remains a cult favorite. And III: Ghost Tigers Rise sharpened the song-craft and introduced even more 80s sensibilities, a la The Cure or New Order.

Expect Music from Regions Beyond to fully encapsulate and solidify the Tiger Army vision even more than any of its predecessors, seamlessly blending the most extreme elements with the smoothest invocations to the romance of darkness.

TIGER ARMY - "Return from Beyond" European tour
30-Apr Brighton Concorde 2
01-May Leeds Cockpit
02-May Glasgow Cathouse
03-May Manchester Academy 3

Fast-rising extreme metal unit JOB FOR A COWBOY has announced both North American and European festival dates as well as club shows in support of their eagerly anticipated debut album, "GENESIS". The band, known for their punishing songs, explosive live performances and forward thinking vision, will release "GENESIS" on May 18th via Metal Blade Records.

JOB FOR A COWBOY will perform amongst the featured artists at England's massive Download Festival, set to take place June 8, 9 and 10. JFAC have been added to the three day festival amongst a hot list of artists that includes Lamb of God, Marilyn Manson, Motley Crue, Shadows Fall, Turbonegro, Velvet Revolver and Wolfmother. The Download Festival is a three day music fest held annually at the spiritual home of rock music in England: Donington Park (which hosted the Monsters of Rock Festivals between 1980 and 1996, and 2002's Ozzfest).

Furthermore, JOB FOR A COWBOY will perform live as part of the 2007 "Sounds of the Underground" tour, set to launch Friday, July 6 in Dallas, TX. The band joins the third installment of the cutting edge annual trek alongside Every Time I Die, Amon Amarth, Darkest Hour, Goatwhore, The Number Twelve Looks Like You and more.

JOB FOR A COWBOY, who toured the world in 2006 in support of their wildly-popular, self-financed "DOOM" EP, recorded "GENESIS" at Blue Light Audio Media in Phoenix, AZ with producer Cory Spotts. The album was mixed by the Grammy winning Andy Sneap (OPETH, ENTOMBED, MEGADETH). Anticipation for "GENESIS" is such that the band has already been named one of "Metal's Most Important Troops for 2007" by Metal Hammer, one of Total Guitar's "Hottest Guitar Bands of 2007", one of Alternative Press' 2007 "Bands You Need to Know" and one of Revolver's "Breakthrough Bands that will be Kicking Your Ass this Year".

On the topic of the new album, JOB FOR A COWBOY guitarist Ravi Bhadriraju comments, "Genesis is a record that we as a band needed to fulfill. We wrote an album that we wanted to play live well into the distant future. If there is one word to describe our new record, it is "aggressive". We want this album to have a certain effect on the listener. I am happy with what we have achieved, and I hope our fans appreciate it too."

Vocalist Jonny Davy states, "We wrote the material that became the "Doom" EP at a very young age and the sound of this upcoming record is a much different one than anything we've done before. We're anxious for its release and we hope everyone who hears it will enjoy."

The final track listing for GENESIS is as follows:

Bearing The Serpent's Lamb, Reduced to Mere Filth, Altered From Catechization, Upheaval, Embedded, Strings of Hypocrisy, Martyrdom Unsealed, Blasphemy, The Divine Falsehood and Coalescing Prophecy.

Much talked about Cardiff quintet Kids In Glass Houses have just been confirmed to appear at this years Download Festival.  "It's amazing. we get to play with Marilyn Manson, our main influence. I'm just kidding. Seriously though, we're really excited to play Donington Park, it's going to be amazing to say we've played such a massive festival alongside some huge bands. We can't wait!" says drummer Philip Jenkins.

As a follow up to the well received ‘E-Pocalypse’ demo, which has now sold over 1500 copies, the band will be issuing their first official release on Monday 11th June, in the form of a limited edition vinyl and download single for ‘Me, Me, Me’. The 7” vinyl version will be limited to a mere 500 copies, all of which will be signed and numbered by the band. Both versions of the single will feature a demo of new track, ‘Pink Suede’, as the b-side.
According to frontman, Aled, ‘Me, Me, Me’ is about “growing up in a narrow minded secular community, a little too set in its ways, with the unspoken fear of progress being deemed alien or foreign.” On the proof of KIGH’s already impressive rise, progress is nothing alien or foreign to the Cardiff based five piece.

Frontiers Records Update

FREDERIKSEN / DENANDER

Frontiers Records have announced the release of the long awaited FREDERIKSEN / DENANDER album "Baptism By Fire" on June the 8th 2007. Best know for his role as lead vocalist in ToTo's "Isolation", Dennis "Fergie" Frederiksen is undoubtedly one of the most gifted singers in Melodic Rock history. He left his mark also on timeless albums such as Trillion's debut, Le Roux "So Fired Up" and more recently singing on the awesome Mecca project.

Hot on the heels of that recording Fergie, took the chance to work with Swedish guitar player Tommy Denander on his very popular Radioactive albums. Tommy is a very clever and respected musician and producer who has worked with an amazing number of artists and played on an equally impressive number of records (with more than 1000 albums on his credit list that can boast such names as Paul Stanley, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen, Richard Marx, Desmond Child, TOTO and many more).

Getting to know each other better and better, the guys started to focus on the idea of working on a full album together with Tommy working on the songwriting and production and Fergie offering his incredible vocal and of course songwriting skills.

But of course when you have such amount of talent involved you can't help but call. even more talent to help! Fellow Frederiksen buddy, Ricky Phillips (with whom Fergie released the successful Frederiksen / Phillips album in 1995) of Styx, Jim Peterik of Pride of Lions and Tommy's songwriting partner on many albums Björn Lindbom - among others - offered their songwriting contributions to the project, while Michael Thompson (TRW), Steve Porcaro (Toto) appeared on guitars and keyboards respectively (completing the line-up on the record is NY session drummer Eric Z Daniels whose recent work include coming albums for Robin Beck, Radioactive and Jimi Jamison).

After 3 long years of work, now the wait is over and the album is ready to be unleashed. This is an unashamedly, straight ahead Melodic Rock album with plenty of magnificent hooks and brilliant musicianship. Everyone who's dreamed to listen again Fergie's voice singing on material that can live up to the levels of the Le Roux or Toto classics, can now safely add this incredible record to his collection.

Final track listing includes:
Let Him Go; Right Heart, Wrong Time; Silver Lining; Crossing Over; Written In Stone; Saving Grace; Baptism By Fire; Can't Get Enough; Never Try To Love Again; Dead End; Keep A Light On; Left With Nothing.

"Baptism By Fire" is a true Melodic Rock gem which just waits to be discovered on June 8th on Frontiers Records with a Japanese release on King Records.

ROBIN BECK

Robin Beck has been hard at work on her new studio album - here is an update on that and more:

"Hello everyone.... It's been a while since I wrote my last news letter to you, but I really wanted to have some great stuff for you to read.
It's been an interesting year... My life has been filled with glorious surprise. Getting back together with one of my favorite songwriters was a big one for me... I am speaking of my dear old friend Jeff Kent... Back in the 80's we worked together constantly and when I was ready to compose the songs for Trouble Or Nothing Jeff and I met up in England. We wrote ''Jealous Hearts" and " Sleeping with the enemy" and lots of your other favourites in the following recordings that came out on different records.... Funny... they were called records then and now they are just called CD's... I prefer records... The Beatles and the Rolling Stones made records and if it's good enough for them it's good enough for me.

My last record was "Do You Miss Me" and I have to say I was very happy to have put myself back into some sneakers after all those years of running around bare foot and pregnant and then playing mommy to my now co-producing daughter Olivia.... She sure has grown up and is letting me know exactly what I should be singing these days.... In fact, it's because of her that Rock'n' Roll is a dominant feature in our household... she just loves it. Like they say... "out of the mouths of babes..."

I've been very busy singing and co-writing songs with my producer and husband James. For those of you who don't know that's James Christian of the famed House Of Lords.

We started a year and a half ago doing "World Upside Down" for HOL and I worked together with James doing all the backings and I co wrote their song Gone, which you can find on the Japanese releases... I've been told it's a favourite.

Now I'm in the mixing stage of my own record titled "Livin' On A Dream". OMG... that's all I can say.... I wrote just about every song but 2 on this one.... I've waited years to get my work out and here it comes.... Along with my writing partners Tommy Denander, James Christian and Jeff Kent... how could I go wrong.... I even pick one up from Jimi Bell, a genius in his own right that. I feel this is my best work to date.... I know you must think that I have to say this kind of thing to wet your appetites but I think your gonna want seconds after you've had a minute to digest this one.... It rocks hard and has total emotional range. There are some goodies on the record, but I won't tell you where they are... you have to listen and either remember or figure out what it is.... Nope I'm not gonna tell you where, just listen! It will bring a smile to the faces of the fans who loved First Time then and now.

I am also in the process of putting together a new DVD of my personal journals and behind the scene travel consisting of the entire "Trouble Or Nothing" years. This is how it really was for me and you get to see it uncut and unedited.... My own reality show.... I didn't know it then but I was already in one. I'll be back in touch right after the release of the record... In the mean time please visit my website at robinbeckrocks.com and drop me a line.

I love hearing from you... it always brightens my day... Till then... Love, Robin."

ALLEN / LANDE

Magnus Karlsson, songwriter, guitarist and producer of the forthcoming second album from ALLEN / LANDE "The Revenge" due out on Frontiers Records on may 11th sent his track by track comments on the songs. Check it out!

1.The Revenge: This is the first song I wrote for this album. I wanted to write something that invites the listen
