The Maybes? are an indie rock quintet hailing from Liverpool and, as such, seem to be the current torch bearers for a local scene that continues to throw up interesting new acts. With this download only single, released ahead of debut album “Promise” due in the summer, the band have taken a song about a self obsessed partner and wrapped it up into three minutes of upbeat pop/rock that seems to be informed with the melody of The La's  but with a more modern sound. 

If you check out the bands MySpace site, which can be found @ www.myspace.com/themaybesliverpool,  there's a opportunity to check out for yourself both this track and its b-side  “Promise”. Promise is an altogether different affair from the A-Side effort, all swirling psychedelic instrumental which is, in part, Pink Floyd, part The Music and hints that The Maybes? may have a very interesting album in them come the summer.  This single is a good place to start though.
