Fables Last Stand - Bite The Hook
End Of The Trail

Debut single from the Newcastle- based sleaze rockers that are influenced by the usual suspects (AC/DC, GnR, Hanoi Rocks) and play no nonsense classic rock n roll. Fables Last Stand have played support slots with Rattlesnake Remedy and Red Star Rebels, have been featured on a Classic Rock magazine cover CD and will be recording their debut album in the US later this year. ‘Bite The Hook’ is a straightforward, heads down, rocker with an extremely memorable riff and a catchy hook (“Throw me a line…”) that gives this song instant appeal. Lead guitarist Twiggy reels off a more than competent solo and the whole band come across sounding tight and well prepared. This is a decent enough song although I actually prefer the chaotic energy of flip side ‘Road Religion’ that reminds me of The Cult in their rock prime and there is definitely something of Ian Astbury’s sound in frontman Roachie. Here we have a relatively new band with a clear grasp of what it takes to write a decent rocker, sound like they mean it and look the part. Well worth checking out. ‘Bite The Hook’ is released in August via End Of Trail Records ahead of a full UK tour throughout September. For more information check out www.myspace.com/fableslaststand |
