Elliot Minor - Parallel Worlds

Review Dougie

Elliot Minor are, arguably, the band that has caused the single most disagreements amongst the staff here at HRH. Some of us love 'em, some of us hate 'em and reviews of the singles the band have thus far released have ranged in scores between the maximum 10/10 and the minimum 1/10. They really have polarized HRH opinion that much. In truth this reviewer falls into the former category believing the band to have something that is more than worthwhile. This review has also possibly been the easiest piece to write ever as new single Parallel Worlds, released just ahead of the band's self titled debut album, is a re-release of their debut single that first surfaced over a year ago. You can actually check out Don Gibb's review from then via this link.

Since then of course the band have had a level of chart success and hence this re-release sees the CD released via Warner Brothers rather than Repossession under a licensing deal and the push of such a major label should see yet more chart success quintet.

There's really not a lot that can be added to Don's original review of the single, it's still an excellent blend of punk pop with perhaps some slightly progressive overtones and If you ain't heard the single before this is definitely the chance to catch up with what you missed first time around.....
