Echobeat - Kobra Kai
Organic
Rating - 7/10

This is the debut single from Portsmouth based quartet Echobeat and it seems, on this showing at least, that the guys have found the perfect fusion of just about every era of rock so far and produced an absolutely cracking single. Further investigation, via the bands myspace page www.myspace.com/echobeat, shows that the band proclaim influences from Rage Against The Machine to Deep Purple and the snippets of the tracks online show traces of this breadth. Aside from its insistent bass line and urgent drums and guitar attack “Kobra Kai” is two and a half minutes of lyrical nonsense but don't let that put you off. The track doesn't allude to it but the Cobra Kai were the baddies Dojo in the Karate Kid and this could very well be a taster of even greater things to come. Let us know your views on Cobra Kai
