Dorp - Rollercoaster
Caned & Able
Rating - 4/10

With this single Dorp seem to be reprising the kind of indie rock that Placebo were peddling circa their first two albums but at least the guys own up to this influence quite openly. What is surprising though is to find that there is a lot more contained within this two track single that is simply very derivative. Take the insistent main riff in "Rollercoaster" for example. It's only a chord away from aping "Back in Black" and the intro to "Extreme" is ' "Super Massive Black Hole" in all but name, not so clever in this context unfortunately. That said both tracks have fairly hooky choruses, with the lead track just edging out its b-side in my opinion, and neither will offend anyone. I can't see anyone going overboard about them either though. Let us know your views on Rollercoaster
