Chris TT - A-Z
Xtra Mile
Rating - 7.5/10
Review Stuart Bowen
|
Brighton-based singer-songwriter Chris T-T already has five studio albums, a live album and numerous singles and EPs to his abbreviated name, so it’s fair to say he’s been a bit busy to catch your attention so far. New single “A-Z” is the first release from his new album “Capital”, the final installment of his London trilogy. Whilst on the surface it appears to be a synth-pop wander around the nation’s capital, Chris T-T’s lyrics probe at the dark recesses and paranoid anti-establishment feelings of those who inhabit the urban sprawl. Musically, it echoes friend and collaborator Jim Bob’s old band, Carter USM, but has that comfortable, false sense of security that Billy Bragg lulls you into whilst delivering his acerbic take on the big picture. On this evidence, the hype is worth believing and Chris T-T should be investigated further as you feel more gems like this lie not far from the surface. |
