Capdown - No Matter What

Sometime ago I was asked to step out of my “comfort zone” and review the album by Capdown entitled “Wind Up Toys”. Their album made an immediate impact on me in as much as I loved it. There was energy, attitude and the whole thing just had me wanting to get up and jump around like a demented rabbit. Sadly after discovering Capdown late into their ten-year career I find that there will be no more releases from this original band as they have decided to call it a day after their 2007 tour comes to an end. They have decided not to continue working together as Capdown as they want to explore other experiences in life outside the band unit. “No Matter What” is a fine single to go out on. It is full of the bands trademark ska rhythms and punk and rock crossover vibes. The single contains a live version of “Community Service” which demonstrates what we are soon about to miss. It’s a storming recording and a performance that the crowd lap up at the end. If there is more material of this quality floating around I would urge the band to consider releasing a live album for all the fans out there who are going to miss this band a hell of a lot. |
