Aeon - Rise To Dominate
Metal Blade
Rating - 8/10
Review John Consterdine
|
'Aeon formed in 1999, and have been delivering their razor sharp riffs ever since in the underground metal world. However, “Rise To Dominate”, sees them taking a step onto the mainstream ladder by signing to Metal Blade records, to deliver their metal to the masses. Opening tracks “Helel Ben_Shagar” and “Spreading The Disease” show just how talented Aeon are, playing death metal at break neck speeds, these Swedes sure know what their doing when it comes to metal! This has everything you could want from a death metal album. Powerful distorted guitars, bass lines that sound like machine gun fire, a drummer who pounds his skins like a man possessed and a singer who can grunt and growl like his life depends on it. Each track is diverse but, at the same time, extreme and keeps the listener begging for more. Especially after hearing the onslaught that is “You Pray To Nothing” followed by “Caressed By The Holy Man”. Rise To Dominate will see Aeon go from being the big fish in the small pond to being the small fish in the sea, but they have what it takes to stay a float! |
