Due for release on February 4th is “From Yesterday” the latest single from 30 Second To Mars' certfied Gold album “A Beautiful Lie”, by which time Jared Leto and his compadres will have almost finished their two week sold out tour around the UK. Starting out with a chiming guitar riff reminiscent of “Joshua Tree” era U2 and a sparse drum beat the track builds its dynamics from an almost spoken, breathy vocal in the verses to a more full on chorus that will give the bands fans something new to spin/download as a reminder of the tour and won't offend the populace at large in the process. Not included on my review copy but retail versions of the CD single will include a new track, “Stronger”, and an edited and album version of “From Yesterday". When you consider that the parent album surfaced in the States back in 2005 and this single has been released in the UK once already, albeit last year and with a different B-side, then I wonder what the Leto brothers have been doing, music wise, as surely they could have come up with an all new single by now? Griping aside, “From Yesterday” is a mid-tempo modern rock song that will no doubt have fans heading to the nearest virtual store to bag the alternate takes and non-album track b-side and the rest of us will remain relatively untroubled by its existence Let us know your views on From Yesterday
